EOTW/Head further into the Shadows

"Hello?" You call out again as you keep trying to push forward. The way through isn't easy, however. You figure that who-, or what-ever had climbed through her must have been at least a little smaller than you. The only way through for you is to move the rubble. It's not an easy task for a ten year old, but you have to try! This building is getting weaker by the minute; if there really is a kid in here you can't just leave them behind to die!

You see an opening just ahead of you, somewhere to at least take a breather. Beyond that, the far end of the building, the shadows in which this creature is hiding. Before all of that, however, is one final obstacle, if you wish to put it lightly. A large beam lies across the only pathway through.

There is a gap underneath; you imagine that's how your target made it past. It small, and it would be a very tight squeeze. Not only that, the building is shifting all the time; what would happen if it shifted whilst you were underneath it!

Alternatively you could always climb over, not that the idea of being on top of the unstable beam would seem any safer! You figure that, if anything were to happen, you could at least attempt a jump or something. That said, your added weight could be enough to make it collapse in the first place!

Lastly, you could try lifting it? It's heavy, and doesn't look the slightest bit moveable, at least not by your strength. Anything is worth a try through, right?
