Life Hacks/Notes on Chris' personality
Chris, as a psychiatrist, has heard a lot of theory on raising children and went into fatherhood thinking he could handle it all with his degree. However, as his children began to age, and there turned out to be more and more of them due to the fetish level drive to reproduce beyond what is really managable shared by both him and his wife, he began to get overwhelmed and withdrew from direct involvement in his children figuring that, beings Lynn was a stay at home mother, she could handle it while he dedicated himself to his work so that he could financially support his large family.
Chris means well for his family, and has put a lot of effort into setting up his house for his large number of children, but he has scant amounts of actual interaction with any one of his children. There is a little occasional interaction with each of them one at a time, but it never really persists long enough for him to really get to know any of them or their problems or anything going on in their lives.
Chris knows, as a psychiatrist, that it is not good to shelter a child from sex. He does not do so intentionally, but he just does not have time to give his children a sex education and trusts the school's sex ed program to handle it. He would approve of their abstinence only training, but does not know just how much they over-emphasize the abstinence part and under-emphasize the actual sex-ed part. He has installed a content filter on the children's internet to prevent them from accessing porn. He does not realize that it is so sensitive to any and all references to genitalia or semen that it even locks out textbook style information on sex, and would likely seek to fix it if he did know, but he has not been informed.
Relationships (start of story)
Knows Xander as a very good friend of his oldest son, and is aware that a lot of his other kids like Xander as well. To him, Xander is practically another one of his own kids and is glad to have him around.
