"You what?!"

Luna flinched as her parents yelled in union. Needless to say, they were quite shocked to hear about their daughter sneaking up to the surface for the past few weeks.

"Don't you know how dangerous that is?!" her mom exclaimed.

"Who knows what sort of criminals you could've run into out there!" her dad added.

"I-I know you're angry, but I just couldn't help it! I was dying to see what it's like up there for so long! A-And I've never been caught, honest! Something great even happened tonight, too!"

That was a partial lie, but they didn't need to know about the human boy Monty and how he probably has the image of her pussy ingrained into his mind.

"Even so," her mom began, getting down on one knee and softly grabbing her daughter's arms. "You really should've asked us, sweetie. We might not let you go alone, but we would've been willing to make the time and go with you."

"She's right Luna," her dad said while also getting down, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I know we're normally too busy to spend much time with you during the night, but if you asked us first we'd have made the time."

"I know..." Luna responded.

Her parents brought her in for a quick group hug, and when they pulled back her dad was smiling.

"You said you never got caught?"

"No, I was always extra careful."

He reached out and ruffled her hair.

"That's my girl!"

Luna batted his hand away but was wearing a smile nonetheless. Her mom spoke again as she fixed her little girl's now disheveled hair.

"Now, you said something great happened?"

"Yeah! You won't believe it, but I got an apprenticeship!"

"At this time of night?" her dad questioned, one brow raised in skepticism.

"Really! What happened was I lost my cloak on accident, and, well, was a bit nervous to continue exploring without one to hide myself with. So I went to a tavern and met a nice group of adventurers. We talked some, they got me a cloak to wear, and when I asked how I could pay them back, the leader said that I can help them with a few stealth missions, and that if I want it can be a full apprenticeship. It turns out that while they came back for the festival, they've been looking for someone sneaky to recruit for some time. I accepted, but said I'll have to talk with you about it."

"An adventuring party?" her mom said. "Are you sure about that Luna?"

"I'm really sure! Like I said, they were very nice and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all around them. They said they'll keep the missions easy to start out and will provide the basics of what I'll need. Plus, I get to explore the world some more!"

Her eyes were shining and her smile beaming as she spoke of the prospect of seeing the world beyond the cavern and city walls. Her raw enthusiasm had already half convinced her parents to approve, but there were still some things that needed discussing.

"Luna, honey, you understand that this is a very big deal, right?"

The young elf calmed down a bit and looked questioning at her mom, only for her dad to pick up where his wife left off.

"Being an adventurer is a very big deal. You'll be traveling a lot, far away from home for who knows how long. While that's normal for sailor and merchant apprenticeships, they're much safer than adventurers. Have you really thought about this and how everything will change if you go through with it?"

Luna looked down a bit, and when she spoke she was much more quiet.

"I know I just met them tonight, and after tomorrow I don't know when I'll be back, but being able to see the world, and help people along the way, that's what I've always dreamed of! And this group, they look very experienced, so I trust them to keep me safe."

Her parents shared a look, having an unspoken conversation, occasionally glancing at the hopeful expression on their daughter's face. After a moment they nodded and faced Luna.

"Okay, we approve," they said together.

Luna could hardly contain herself. She lunged at her parents and threw her arms around them.

"Thank you! ThankyouThankyouThankyou!"

Her parents chuckled at her reaction. Pulling away her mom spoke up.

"Can you just do one thing for us tonight, sweetie?"

"Sure!"

She gave her daughter a soft smile.

"Sleep with us in our room, so we can spend as much time as we can together before tomorrow."

Luna smiled wider, giving them her answer.

Not having much time to waste chitchatting Luna climbed in bed with her mom and dad, cuddling up between them as they held her close. Within moments the family was sound asleep, enjoying their last night together before their little girl began her new journey tomorrow. Luna herself felt more content than she ever had before in her life. To her, all the trouble and humiliation she's endured was worth it, because tomorrow started her new life as an apprentice adventurer and she could put everything she went through this night behind her.

What she had no way of knowing, however, was that this night had been just a taste of what's to come. Maybe it was fate, maybe a demon had taken an interest in challenging her modesty, or perhaps some member of the Pantheon was amused by her antics. Maybe it was just plain bad luck, but her embarrassing adventures were just beginning.
