With a skip and a hop, you gleefully make your way downstairs to the living room where you see your mother resting on the couch while folding laundry. She's on the shorter side and getting a little more plump as she ages. Her face is pretty but worn through her minor amount of wrinkles. "Mommy! Mommy! Guess what?"
"What is it sweetie?"
"I love you!"
She giggles. "I love you too."
"Can I go over to my friend's house today?"
"Have you finished your homework for Monday yet?"
"Uh, kinda...?" You meant to get it done on Friday, but there was this cool show on T.V. and, well, you know how it goes.
"*sigh* Well you still have tomorrow, but you better get it done, alright?"
"Uh-huh!"
"Now, who's house did you want to go to?"
