~Anatomy Lesson for Girls~


The crystalline waters of the small and humble island of Cythera have always been a source of wonder and attention, for it is said that it was in these very waters that Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and beauty, was born, emerging, fully grown inside a seashell amidst sea foam and blood [1].

Since that fateful day, Cythera has been considered part of her sanctuary, so it should come as no surprise that it was here where young girls from all over the known world came to study and train with the hopes of one day becoming priestesses of the fabled Goddess. And in time they created what today is known as the prestigious Saint Valentino's Academy for Gifted Girls, who, among its male counterpart (located in Boeotia , relatively close to Thespies, on the other side of the Gulf of Corinth), seeks to rescue and educate abused and battered children from all over the world and transform them in Priestesses and Priests willing to serve the Gods of love and their cause for the good of all mankind.

And it is with this same purpose that a group of students from this prestigious institute has been selected to partake of a very special class.

"Good morning, girls!" the firm voice of Professor Ariadne Pachis echoed in the classroom, stopping the excited group of girls of varying ages in their tracks.

"Good morning, Professor Pachis!" The girls immediately stood up and greeted their teacher in a quasi-military fashion before awaiting in eerie silence for her response.

"Very well, let's begin with our morning prayer, shall we?" Professor Pachis announced rather than ask and closed her eyes, silently indicating the class to mimic her as they started to recite their prayer from memory, as they did every day before class.


Aphrodite, fairest of Olympus' jewels,

flawless in form, unsurpassed in grace and beauty.

Shining Aphrodite, constant in your presence,
subtle your schemes, overwhelming your power,
irresistible your treasures. Kind-hearted one,
mistress of feelings, I praise and honour you

Oh Aphrodite, who strips away self-control,
who leaves sweet desire in its place, I pray to you.

Glorious Goddess, source of passion, I thank you
for precious moments of instinct, for fire and fury,
for the depth of pleasure, for the essence of need:
Aphrodite, dearest Goddess, grant me your gifts.


"You may be seated," Professor Pachis announced with authority as the prayer came to an end and silence took over the classroom once more.

The woman took a moment to stare at her audience, a rather diverse group of young girls ranging from 11 to 14 years of age, all of them looked at her with excited expectation; doubtlessly aware of what it meant to be selected to take this particular lecture.

"Very well, let us begin!" Professor Pachis spoke and turned around to write on the blackboard with big broad letters:

Introduction to Male Anatomy & Cupids.


The woman hadn't finished writing the title when the familiar sound of confused whispers and excitement took over the room.

"Male anatomy? But we've already seen that! We learned about it in health class," some older girls complained with clear confusion in their voices. Meanwhile, the younger girls seemed too shocked to even speak—the deep blush on their faces said more than they could not.

The random chatter and tittering was shattered when a high-pitched voice cried out, "Finally, the secrets of boys revealed!" an 11-year-old student exclaimed, with a triumphant look on her face.

Professor Pachis couldn't help but to smile upon hearing her students' reactions to the day's lesson, she walked over to her desk to give one final look at the class before starting the lesson.

"When I say the word cupid, what comes to your mind?" she asked, and several hands raised in the air, eager to take part.


"Yes, Monica?"

"The name the Romans used to call Eros, the God of Love? Madam." the girl ventured.

"Yes, but while that is factually correct, this is not the answer I'm looking for." Professor Pachis clarified before picking another raised hand.

"What about you, Nicole?"

"Saint Valentine's Day and renaissance art? Madam," the girl asked, unsure of where this was going.

"Indeed, this is what the average person thinks when anyone mentions the word cupid, but don't take my word for it; let's take a look and see what the collective consciousness of mankind has distilled into the World Wide Web on the subject, shall we?" Professor Pachis announced, rather than ask and with a flick of her wrist and a gesture, the blackboard at the front of the room, along with her writing vanished and was replaced by a massive screen showcasing a very popular search engine.

Once Professor Pachis had finished typing in the desirable search terms (that is, images related to the word cupid) through the handy keyboard integrated to her desk, the screen showed the search results directly. A never-ending stream of cutesy caricatures; depicting little toddler boys armed with bow, arrows, white wings and sometimes, nappies mixed in with hundreds of fine art paintings depicting the same basic imaginary suddenly flooded the screen. There were costumes, drawings and engravings, darkened silhouettes, sculptures and more.

"Now, class, do you remember the names of all the Erotes?" Professor Pachis asked as she showcased several classic paintings to the class.

As if on cue, the girls started chanting the names of the gods in unison. "Eros, Anteros, Himeros, Pothos, Hedylogos, Hymenaeus, and Hermaphroditus."

"Exactly, that makes a total of seven Erotes, yet if you see on many of these paintings, it is exceedingly rare for the seven to be represented and identified in art. Now, how are the gods normally depicted in the art we've seen?"

It wasn't unanimous, nor was it enthusiastic, but some students raised their hands to answer. Professor Pachis called on a girl in the front row of desks who had her hand raised.

"Well, the gods normally have things that are associated with them, Madam"

"That is correct, for example in art that depicts Anteros, he is commonly shown to have butterfly wings, additionally, he is often represented with a golden club or arrows that are tipped with lead." Professor Pachis explained.

"And yet, in the majority of the art we've seen today, there have only been the normal nondescript representations; the little toddlers with the white bird wings that all look, more or less, the same. It's almost as if…" Professor Pachis didn't finish the sentence deliberately, leaving the class in suspense.

"Excuse me, Professor Pachis, madam?" a voice called out.

Professor Pachis turned to find out which of her students had spoken. She noticed one particular girl in the middle of the class raising her hand politely to ask a question. Professor Pachis nodded to her to proceed. "Do you know the answer, Samantha?"

Samantha, nodded. "That these cupids aren't meant to represent the Gods of Love we know, Madam."

"That's correct, Samantha," Professor Pachis praised her student. "Now, if the cupids in art are not meant to represent the Gods of Love, then what do they represent?" All the girls had a blank look in their eyes, it seemed that none were willing to attempt to answer this question. Professor Pachis sighed a little but had figured this would be the response. "Class, what you see here are what we call minor erotes. They are the sons of the Gods of Love."

With another flick of her wrist, the search results had disappeared. In its place now appeared an illustration, not unlike one found in a doctor's office, which depicted a side-by-side view of the naked front and back of what appeared to be a young boy on the brink of puberty, if at all, judging by the utter lack of body hair of any kind.

However, something was odd about this illustration beyond the fact that the boy in question had been drawn exceedingly beautiful and very realistic. On the boy's back were a pair of small feathered wings which were extended as if the angelic boy was about to take off and fly around the room. Another small detail that seemingly went virtually unnoticed was the presence of a small heart shaped mark on the boy's right butt cheek.

"Class, this is what a cupid actually looks like."

"Wait, but aren't cupids supposed to be, like little, chubby, winged babies?" a perplexed Samantha asked more to herself than to the class but, it didn't go unnoticed by Professor Pachis

"What was that, Samantha? Please say it again, but louder."

Samantha blushed at being singled out but did as asked and restated her question louder. "Aren't cupids supposed to be like, little chubby, winged, toddlers or babies, like in the art you showed us? What you're showing there looks to be a normal 12-year-old boy who had wings glued onto his back. I should know, my cubicle is dedicated to them, Madam."

"Dedicated to the cupids that look like small chubby babies or the ones here who look like young adolescent boys?" Professor Pachis returned with an amused smile.

The class broke out in laughter and giggling. Samantha sank in her chair.

"She isn't kidding either, pretty much every available spot is covered in the baby cupids," one of Samantha's roommates playfully teased her. Which caused Samantha to blush and to sink even further in her chair, until her face was just visible above her desk.

Seeing the blush on Samantha's face, Professor Pachis knew she needed to regain control over her class. "Well, you see, what you are describing are called putti or amorines, and while they can be an artistic representation of the erotes and thus what people typically think cupids look like, isn't actually true."

Now that the class was again focused on Professor Pachis, Samantha felt it was safe again to sit properly in her chair.

"Outside this school, we let normal folks think that cupids, or minor erotes, are little winged babies; It helps the real cupids maintain their identity a secret, and it allows them to walk around the realm of mankind as normal boys without having to be invisible all the time."

"I-I'm sorry, but even as much of a devotee of our goddess as I am, as we all in this room are, everyone knows that cupids are merely artistic representations and don't actually exist, Madam," scoffed Samantha. The professor just stared at her with a single raised eyebrow. "… they don't exist! There are no myths that talk about them… right?" added a sudden, remarkably unsure Samantha.

"Let's find out then, shall we?" The professor gave Samantha a small smile before she procured a medallion from her pocket. The medallion appeared to have a large carved jewel embedded on its centre. She then walked to the centre of the room with the medallion in hand. The woman began to chant solemnly.

"Oh, sweet children of Eros and his brethren; I beseech thee, grace us with your divine presence so that we may partake of your gifts." The class was full of excited and scared teenage girls and a still rather sceptic Samantha.

Silence reigned supreme amidst the room until suddenly the jewel in the woman's hand started to shine, immediately afterwards the lights flickered. The screen of where the blackboard once was changed to show nothing but static before turning itself off; Then, as if on cue, the lights flickered their last and plunged the room into oppressive darkness. The only sound that could be heard was that of a room full of young girls screaming in panic.

As soon as the screaming subsided, Samantha sensed that a presence was suddenly next to her that she knew for sure that it hadn't been there a moment before. "Hi, Samantha," the girl heard an unknown but decidedly boyish voice whisper in her ear, which caused the poor girl to jump out of her place with a panicked scream in her throat. This was followed by a mischievous giggle that seemed to flow around the room.

"That wasn't nice, Billy," Professor Pachis spoke up as she turned on the lights, causing all the girls in the room to give out a collective gasp.

Samantha was the most startled for instead of a boy being next to her; as she had expected, in the front right corner of the room, where once was just space now stood a light-skinned, raven-haired 12-year-old boy with green eyes. He was wearing something that seemed reminiscent of a rather skimpy suit of armour with blue hues, although not like anything they had ever seen before.

Instead of a heavy helmet, the boy's head was crowned with what seemed to be a circlet with an emerald in the shape of a heart sitting at the centre of the forehead, flanked by small but intricately detailed golden wings; the ears were covered with the same wing-like pattern painstakingly sculpted in the metal but large enough to cover the area and even protrude a little over his head. His chest and shoulders were protected by the strange armour, but his slim and well sculpted midriff had been left completely bare. On his arms were a peculiar pair of what seemed to be gauntlets that reached all the way to the elbows but had the peculiarity of leaving the fingertips bare despite being entirely metallic.

An elaborate metallic belt adorned his waist and extended downwards to cover his hips but left both his front and behind unarmoured and exposed. That said, the parts that made him a boy were still covered and concealed, this due to a chiton, or flowy white cloth, which hung just low enough.

To the girls, the chiton felt not so different from their own skirts, rather than anything they ever expected a boy to wear, and it was plain to every girl in the room that standing in front of them was indeed a boy. To finish it off, a long pair of thin sabatons with golden spurs shaped like wings that sprouted from his armoured ankles which covered the top of his feet and also all the way up to his metallic knee pads ending just before his smooth thighs, leaving them bare and exposed.

The most remarkable thing about the boy's strange appearance was, perhaps, a pair of soft raven bird-like wings protruding from his back.

"No, it was not nice, but would they really have believed anything else?" another decidedly boyish voice spoke from the back of the classroom.

The girls immediately turned around to see the newcomer to find another 12-year-old looking boy dressed in an armour of similar design as the one who, apparently, was named Billy; although, his was a little simpler, covered slightly less of his body, had red hues instead of blue and his circlet had a glistening heart shaped sapphire instead. This boy had a noticeable tan, long brunet locks and mesmerising blue eyes and a set of elaborate but small metallic wings sprouting from the back of his strange armour.

"Don't encourage him, Eddy, and come to the front," Professor Pachis gently but firmly warned the erote.

The boy just shrugged and did as told. But instead of walking, and perhaps as a way to reaffirm to the girls that this was no elaborate practical joke. He bent his knees and then shot into the air above their heads, slowly gliding to the front of the classroom. The wings on the back of his armour were now flapping around as would a bird's wings. It was soon made clear, judging by the giggling and tittering from some girls beneath him, that more than one had figured out that the young erote wasn't wearing anything under his flowy chiton, clearly showing off some of what made him boy to those lucky girls.

"Hello ladies, we heard that some among you thought we didn't exist." Eddy smiled, and the girls couldn't help but to blush; despite appearing younger than some of the girls present, both boys were exceptionally cute, beautiful even.

Professor Pachis looked disapprovingly at Eddy as he landed in front of the blackboard at the front of the room, then turned back to the class. "Well, now that our young cupid here has taken his time to show off his wares. It is time to learn about the male anatomy." She turned to look at both Eddy and Billy, who had joined him.

"Now, before we begin, some introductions are in order; Boys, if you would be so kind?"

"I am William Cooper, son of Himeros, but you may simply call me Billy!" The cupid in the blue armour introduced himself.

"And I am Edward Davis, son of Anteros, but you may simply call me Eddy!" the second cupid added.

Once both boys had given their names they both made a small reverence in gentlemanly fashion towards the excited girls with the expected effect.

"Now boys, would you, please be so kind as to remove your armour and clothes and show the rest of the class what Eddy has already previewed to those who looked up?" Professor Pachis was quick to retake control of the class, although the look of surprise on many of the girls wasn't lost on the erotes.

Eddy and Billy locked eyes in mischief for a moment before they gave the rest of the class a wide playful grin. Professor Pachis briefly wondered for a moment what in the world she was thinking when she agreed to have these boys attend her class today.

"Sure thing, Madam!" they exclaimed, before they each raised an arm in the air and snapped their fingers. Both sets of armour immediately started to glow and then disassembled from their bodies on its own, only to reassemble into a small sculpture that seemed to represent the abstract figure of an erote before floating away to store themselves on an upper shelf at the back of the class.

Both boys were left wearing little else than their short white chitons and elaborate leather sandals; they locked eyes once more and decided to give their eager but silent audience a little show.

First, they slowly undid their belt that was hidden underneath the armour and kept their chiton tight against their body; the belt itself looked to be made of fine leather with what seemed to be gold and silver embossed into it and was just as elaborate as their sandals. For their next step, both boys undid the silver clasp on their shoulders making the silky fabric that covered their young bodies slid off, but they didn't fall to the floor; instead, it seemed like a certain part of the boy's anatomy had served as an obstacle, leaving the clothes perched right at their crotch.

The room was submerged in dead silence, none of the girls dared to look away, nor speak, entranced as they were.

"Boys?" Professor Pachis finally broke the silence, urging the playful boys to stop playing games and finish already.

With a slight movement of their hips, both pieces of cloth finally hit the floor, leaving the cupids completely naked (except for their sandals) and exposed to the whole class of speechless girls.

As observed before, the boys couldn't possibly be older than 12—13 tops—and thus neither were particularly big in the manhood department however not a single one of the girls present could say that they were small either, as the boys' bodies were perfectly proportionate, and possessed of a strange beauty, almost as if they were living works of art.

Despite being completely nude in front of a group of teenage girls, neither boy lost their cheeky smile nor showed any sign of embarrassment other than a slight pink tint on their soft cheeks, inviting the girls to ogle them freely. Many a girl became red in the face and started to fan themselves. While others whistled cat calls or simply started to drool.

Even Professor Pachis had blushed some and needed to fan herself before she was able to get the rest of the class under control. "Settle down, class, settle down. Okay, who can tell us what is different about these two boys?"

Almost at once, every girl raised their hand, hoping to be called on.

It never ceased to amuse Professor Pachis, that in all of her years of teaching at the academy, this was the lecture when suddenly every single girl wanted to participate. If only I could have these boys in my class for every lecture, she chuckled to herself. Scanning the crowd, she chose a student. "Cynthia?"

"One boy has black wings and the other boy had metal wings, but they went away? Where did they go, madam?"

"I can take this one, Madam," Eddy offered with the same winning smile.

"Go ahead, Eddy."

"We, minor erotes—sons of the Gods of Love and born of mortal mothers—aren't born with wings and must win them instead. This is why our sacred protection, our armour, given to us by our fathers, include these metallic wings to allow us to fly and fulfil our duties with ease." Eddy explained without skipping a beat.

"So that means that you two are…"

"Demigods? Yes, we are," Billy answered.

"Thank you, boys; that was a great response. Now, Billy; Eddy brought up something that may have confused the girls here. Will you tell the class, please, what Eddy meant when he said that you both are minor erotes?" asked the professor.

"Sure, professor; minor erote is our official title as sons of the Gods of Love, who are in turn known as major erotes themselves (or just erotes). The name cupid is something that got popularised later on, after the Roman Empire started calling Our Lord Eros by that name, and by the renaissance, every putti and amorin was being called a cupid already and the name just kind of stuck ever since."

A little brunette girl raised her hand high. "Go ahead and ask your question, Debby," Professor Pachis said, acknowledging the girl.

"Umm, … what is an a-amorin?"

Billy smiled at Debby, "An amorin is an alternative name that Italians sometimes use to call the putti, and sometimes it's also used to refer to small children. It basically translates to little love."

"Very nice. Billy, can you tell the class a bit about what it is you cupids do?"

"We hold the title of guardians of love and thus our task is to make sure love blooms in the world, as well as punishing those who make bad use of it"

"Are there no female cupids?" queried another girl.

"That is correct, all erotes are male by birth; except for, perhaps, the children of Hermaphroditus, God Protector of Marriage, who by virtue of their dual nature are considered to be both male and female at the same time."

Judging by the looks of the girls, it would seem that the existence of the children of Hermaphroditus had caught their attention.

"How can anyone be male and female at the same time?" a young girl whispered.

"Does that mean they got…" another girl asked for herself but couldn't bring herself to complete her question; at least, not out loud!

"I believe I'm more qualified to answer that." The soft, melodic voice of a stranger filled the room, making everybody turn around towards the back of the class, where a new cupid was standing.

Unlike the other two, the soft-spoken newcomer had a decidedly more androgynous appearance. He had silky shoulder-length blond hair and small but neatly tied braids that framed his face. His deep blue eyes behind long eyelashes and cherry lips made it hard to believe that this was, in fact, a boy. Like the other two cupids, he wore the strange armour with pride. His armour was a lot like the kind that Eddy wore, including metallic wings on his back. What made the armour distinct was that this one had a purple hue and the heart shaped gem on his headband was a diamond instead

"Took you long enough," Billy smirked.

"Yeah, sorry, I'm late! Had to make an emergency intervention, a woman almost killed her husband due to misplaced jealousy…" the newcomer spoke without elaborating any further.

"Ah, Cameron, you've arrived just in time, would you mind presenting yourself to the class and stripping?" Professor Pachis asked.

"Right away, Madam!" the cheerful cupid answered before calmly walking to the front and taking his place between the other two cupids. Once there, he greeted both boys by the way of a quick kiss on the cheek before turning to address the girls.

"Hello everyone, my name is Cameron Page, son of Hermaphroditus, minor erote at the service of the Gods of Love and the House of Aphrodite, at your service" the cupid introduced himself as he repeated the same process that the other two already had. With a quick snap of his fingers, the strange armour he was wearing left his body on its own and joined the other two sets at the back of the room.

Cameron wasted no time removing his chiton instead of making a spectacle out of it and before anyone knew it, he was already standing in between Billy and Eddy showing off his naked body with a large grin plastered on his face.

The differences between Cameron and the other two boys quickly became apparent to the girls. Even though it was clear as day that Cameron had a pretty nice male equipment for his apparent age, there was something decidedly feminine about his body, he was ever so slightly taller than the other 2 boys, his hips seemed to be bigger, rounder, softer and had some semblance of curves, much more like their own, as opposed to the more square frame of the other two boys; not to mention how even his chest looked different, albeit, not terribly so, it looked as if he had some semblance of breasts.

After giving the girls a bit of time to look over his body, Cameron continued, "As you can see, I have a penis and testicles like my brothers here, however, unlike them, I also have breasts and, though you cannot tell, a uterus—"

Almost immediately, girls started putting their hands in the air, pleading to be called on to ask a question. Cameron chuckled, "Wow, I didn't realise I had become so popular." The class laughed along with him. "Okay, let's see, how about you." Cameron pointed to a girl on the far right of the room wearing a red bandana.

"Are you trans?"

"I can see why you'd think that, given how many trans folk look up to and worship my father, but no; we, the children of Hermaphroditus, aren't trans. If we had to be classified into a category used by the world of man, then the closest one would be intersex [2] given that we were born like this and don't suffer from gender dysphoria."

"F-father? Isn't that insensitive?"

"Oh? Why would it be? They certainly didn't give birth to me. Like my brothers here, I too was born from a mortal woman, so I don't think it's insensitive to call them father."

"If you and your siblings are both male and female at the same time, then how do you identify?"

"Well, this depends on the person, really. But as a general rule, you can expect most of us to either not care too much about it and/or simply default to male, since, despite our looks, it's still easier to pass for a boy than it would be to pass for a girl…" the Erote explained as he pointed at his crotch.

"If you have a uterus, does that mean you can get pregnant?"
"Nope, sorry. Even though all of us, the children of Hermaphroditus, were given a uterus and breasts, we are completely sterile. We have no eggs and produce no sperm. Furthermore, we can't produce a uterine lining. Medically, doctors don't know what to call it but," Cameron shrugged, "it is what it is."

"But that is so pointless then!" the girl pouted in disappointment. "Why have a uterus if it doesn't do anything?"
Cameron shrugged at her outburst, "Why do boys have nipples when they serve absolutely no function at all?" Cameron good-naturedly countered. "It's just one of the quirks of who we are."

Professor Pachis made sure to interject before the girl could respond. "Now, Tina, that isn't any way to speak to a guest, is it?"

Tina was sullen, but knew she needed to agree. "No, madam." Then looking up at the new cupid. "I'm sorry if I insulted you. I was just surprised."

Before Cameron could reply, Billy hooked an arm around his neck and pulled him into a headlock, while using his other hand to give him a noogie.

While the two were occupied—Cameron trying to free himself—Eddy leaned around them and smiled at the girl, "Don't worry about it, Tina, we knew you didn't mean anything bad by it.

"This may be a good moment to point out that, sterility is a trait we all share as demigods due to our hybrid nature, we are all unable to father children." Eddy explained before giving Billy an audible spank on his bare bottom, forcing him to finally release Cameron, who didn't seem to be terribly upset about it and was, in fact, ready to pounce back at him. But before that happened another slap was heard and this time it was Cameron dancing around with his hands on his butt.

"What? Then what is the point of cupids having balls or genitals at all then?" The incredulous voice of a girl echoed in the classroom at the same moment that the entire class had gone quiet.

The girl in question just went red and barely managed to mumble a small "sorry" before nailing her eyes to the floor; fortunately, the 3 cupids seemed to find her really amusing and took no offence.

"Well, balls also produce hormones, so... Eddy explained with his usual shit eating grin; the boy felt an, oh so powerful, need to walk up to the girl's desk, take the girl's hand and then place it over his body, his beating heart, his hips or perhaps…? But he refrained himself from doing so, knowing that the professor would probably not allow it.

"Next question?" the stern voice of Professor Pachis interrupted the rough housing cupids in the act. Hearing the tone and implied threat in the professor's voice, the three boys quickly stopped what they were doing and got back into a straight line, shoulder-to-shoulder, across the front.

"Are all cupids gay?"

"We cupids don't really use such modern terms and labels, but to keep it simple, according to today's world we would be classified as bisexuals."

"D-do you get periods?" a shy looking young girl stuttered, her face as red as it could be.

"Since a period is caused by the uterus shedding its lining, and mine does not produce the lining in the first place, it cannot be said that we get periods per se—" Cameron flinched as soon as he said those words, as if he had felt the jealousy of every girl in the room.

"They lay eggs instead!" Billy affirmed with such confidence that it almost caught the other two cupids off guard.

After a swift recovery, Eddy couldn't help but add on, "just like a chicken!"

Needless to say, all the girls were shocked at this revelation. Even Professor Pachis was taken aback, because of the sheer confidence that Billy effused. Nothing in all of her research or the sacred texts had suggested this. Could this be a deeply kept secret?

"Yeah, they taste great with a touch of hot sauce!" Cameron deadpanned.
