"Alright, this is important Tatiana. What exactly did your daddy say to you about how I was going to punish you? I might be able to help you depending on what he said," you tell her.
"I... I..." -sniff-
Tatiana stammered as she was unable to halt her tears long enough to talk properly. You sigh and look up to Sylvia who is still in the closet. "Did Tatiana's daddy or your daddy say anything to you about what the punishment would be?" You ask her.
Sylvia nods. "My daddy said you were going to punish me the same way he did, and even do something worse," she said in a morose voice.
Hmm... that's really not much to go on. You were hoping you might find some kind of major fault in the words one of them used. You know Sylvia was outright sexually abused by her dad, but according to Tatiana's report, Mr. Granville already knew about that. So, as crazy as it is to say, that might actually not be enough. Not in this town anyway.
But, maybe you could somehow twist this into him giving her sexual instruction. In the complete upside-down world of this town, teaching your own child about sex could be considered a serious issue. A social issue more so than a legal one, but you could still probably leverage it a little to maybe justify getting Sylvia out of her house. That would be the extent of it though, not enough to actually place her father's actions truly in question.
Yeah, that's just how fucked up this town is. Raping your daughter is not enough to bring legal charges, and barely enough to justify removing the child from her home.
"And Tatiana's dad? Mr. Granville?" You ask her, but she just shook her head.
"He really didn't say much of anything, only that we were going to be punished," she said.
Well, it should figure there wouldn't be much on Mr. Granville. He's likely the more up-right sort here, as far as that term would apply to an official in this town anyway.
You just aren't seeing anything you could really exploit.
