Disciplinary Action/Disciplinary Office/First Quarter/Interviews/Headmaster/Go/Inquire/Wait
You decide to wait out in the main waiting area for Matt Marlow's punishment to finish. It actually doesn't take that long, probably because he was thrown off his game a little by the intrusion, and a short time later Matt Marlow is seen coming out, completely unable to look you in the eye. You simply smirk a bit as you walk into the Headmaster's office.
"Ah, Mr. Gardner, sorry about earlier." Mr. Grandville says. "I suppose whatever you're wanting to talk about must be important if you waited around. So, what is it?"
Well, direct and to the point, is it?
"Yes sir," you say, "part of enacting my role includes assigning alternate members of staff to perform a punishment should I be unable to due to a heavy case load or someone else being more appropriate to punish the student. However, I do not know the other staff quite well enough to do this. I was hoping to send out calls for staff-wide interviews in order for me to get a handle on their personalities and figure out who is appropriate for these roles if the situation happens to come up."
"Ah, of course! That seems entirely appropriate. You seem to be rather dedicated to your job Mr. Gardner, I am glad we seem to have chosen the right man for the job."
"Well, thank you for the vote of confidence sir." You respond. "Well, that DOES bring up one issue though. The number of male staff are much smaller than the female staff, so that could make... err... certain punishments a little more difficult to find a willing administrator for, and I have my doubts any would come forward and volunteer for the role even if they were, err... 'that way.'" You tell him, trying to keep your knowing smile from looking TOO suggestive. "Ahh! So, I also wanted to ask you to possibly handle those issues. You have been working here longer, so you would know better than I would which members of the male staff are best to fill those roles. It might even make things better if even I do not know the man who administers those punishments."
"Ahh... I see." He says, eyeing you up a little. He definitely caught that knowing smile. "Yes, yes. I... think that is a rather wise proposal. Don't worry, if such a situation comes up, have Mrs. Varano fill me in on the details and I will assign the most appropriate person to administer the punishment given the circumstances."
"Thank you sir, I suppose I had best start planning the interview schedule in that case."
"I can help you out a little on that subject too." Mr. Grandvill interrupts as you were trying to leave. "There were two other instructors considered for your job before Mrs. Moore recommended you. Mrs. Walton ought to be happy to assist with boys who are up for punishment. There is also a male instructor, Mr. Loso. We considered him, but there were complaints from some of the other teachers against his appointment, fears he might abuse the position. His interests are more toward the older age-range, so you can keep him in mind at the least. Although, it might be a good idea to utilize his assistance sparingly. You might get a sudden increased work load from students he has reported and sent to your office, particularly in that range."
"I see." You respond. "Thank you for the information."
