"Don't worry, I know you didn't do anything wrong. Have a seat," you say as you guide her over toward the couch. You guide her over with a hand on her back, and decide to sit down next to her in order to show a sense of closeness rather than cold stuffy professionalism. It probably has something to do with hearing about how harshly she's being bullied from Coralee, you'd just like to be as conciliatory as possible with her.

For her part though, she seems to look rather uncomfortable with your proximity and the attention you are giving her.

"So, I have already talked to Victoria and Coralee about what happened when you were getting to school. I am still a little unclear on the details though, but Coralee said you might have seen what happened, so I just want to hear what you have to say about it," you tell her.

"Umm... yes sir," she says meekly and obediently. "Umm... well, Victoria was picking on me and Coralee, and then... Coralee got mad and started yelling, and Victoria slapped her."

Interesting. Did she just try to lie to you? Miss Curtis reports that Coralee shoved Victoria first, and Coralee's own testimony agrees with that.
