All of this has just become too complicated. You know one thing is for sure, you are not going to be trying to knock Sonia up until you have sorted out all that there is to know in this situation.
"Actually Sonia, I am going to wait and do the thing to give you a baby after school, I would like to talk to your parents first before doing your punishment."
"My parents only speak Spanish, you have to talk to my big sister Maria if you don't speak it too." She replies, rattling it off as a matter of fact.
"Well, I guess I will just get it figured out." You tell her. "For now though, I still have to give you a punishment for disrupting your class by throwing a tantrum like a little kid. I'm going to bring you to the kindergarten class for the rest of the day. I'll walk you down there."
"Ummm... Ok." She responds, looking a little confused.
"Alright, come on." You goad her, holding out your hand.
"But... you still have my underwear!"
"I'll give your underwear back when you come here after school, I don't want you to forget and go home instead."
This comment seems to make Sonia extremely concerned. "But... what if I STILL forget and go home without my underwear!?" She asks, looking as though she genuinely believes it's possible.
"I'll tell the kindergarten teacher to remind you. But, if you really do go home without your underwear, then you will just have to have not being allowed to wear underwear added to your punishment since it obviously doesn't matter to you anyway since you can't remember to come get yours back."
"Nooo!!! I DO care! But I still might forget!" She yells, clearly distressed since she apparently took your words to be exactly literal rather than a veiled implication or joke.
"Ok, ok!" You respond, holding up your hands and trying to calm the situation. "But I am still going to keep your underwear, and you DO still have to remember to get them back."
"Ok." She sniffles. After that, you lead her out by the hand and take her to the kindergarten classroom and explain to the teacher that Sonia has some issues that make her sometimes act like a kid, about the same age as the kids in her class, and so she is being punished by having to spend the rest of the day in kindergarten. She also does not need to worry about classwork for the rest of the day, you doubt anything at her current grade level is actually a challenge for her anyway if she was doing freshman and sophomore level work and getting high grades on it. Miss Curtis is a little hesitant about the idea, this was not what she meant during her interview when she said she could take children from higher classes for the sake of a punishment. But, she did eventually agree to it.
When you get back to your office, you are informed that Dr. Hartell had been by and left a note on your desk. You go into the room to read it. You look for it for a moment, it is not on your desk. However, you catch that something appears to be taped to the end of your changing table now and go to examine what it is. You pull it off and read it, it looks like this is the note from Dr. Hartell alright.
