The door to the headmaster’s office was just a double door, each sheet slightly bigger than the one in your office. And yet you imagined it was the entrance to a sacred chamber. For some reason, even after all those years have passed, you still got goosebumps standing in front of that door.

Well, now you weren’t a scared boy being punished, you were an employee that needed a word with his employer… and that made it even less appealing.

You turned from the door to the secretary on the side. The fact that your own office door was less than four feet away didn’t give you any reassurance.

“Is the headmaster available, Mr. Varano?” you asked her.

“Sure, why do you need him for?” she asked, her hand already on the phone, ready to announce you.
