  • Spirit: Weak to Above Average (1-6)

  • Infrasonic Hearing: Ogres have the ability to hear tones that are lower pitched than humans can hear.
  • Enhanced Smell: Ogres have a keen sense of smell, comparable canines.

Biology

Appearance

Ogres are tall, thickly built humanoids. Although towering in many respects, they are the shortest of the giantkin.

  • Height: Ogres are short for giants but still stand on average between 9' and 10' tall. A particularly tall ogre stands about 11'4".
  • Weight: When calculating the weight of an ogre, take into account the square-cube law by using the following formula (c/a)^3*w where c is their current height, a is their adult height, and w is their adult weight. This will give the accurate weight for their current height.
  • Build: Ogres are typically thick and stocky, ranging from obese to muscular. Skinny ogres almost never occur naturally and are typically the result of starvation.
  • Bust: Ogresses have a broad range of breast types, but generally er towards the larger sizes. Most ogresses have breasts ranging from C-cup to J-cup; with rare individuals reaching as small as A-cup on the lower side and as large as K-cup on the high side.
  • Penis: Ogres have a broad range of penis sizes, but generally er towards the larger sizes. When they reach adulthood, most fall between 12" to 16"; with rare individuals having penises as small as 3" on the low side and as large as 19" on the higher side. Ogre penises are never thinner than 6.4" in circumference.
  • Skin: Ogres have a broad range of skin tones, ranging from a dark tan to dark umber brown.
  • Hair: Ogres can have any kind of hair color, but mostly favor a similar range to humans.
  • Eyes: Ogres can have any eye color that can be found in humans, but also red, black, and yellow.
  • Other details: Ogres have heads that look disproportionate to their bodies, of which much of this head is their impressive jaws. Ogres also tend to have abundant body hair, with thick beards in males especially. Ogres that have orcish blood may have large, protruding lower canines.

Genders

Ogres can be male or female only.

Reproduction

Ogres reproduce sexually.

  • Ogres can cross with any lesser, humanoid, or greater race.
  • Purely ogre pregnancies last about 10 months.

Age

Ogre age at a rate equivalent to humans.

  • An ogre that is entering adolescence would be around 10-12 years old.
  • Ogres reach maturity at around 18 years old.

Diet

Ogres are omnivores.

  • Ogres will eat just about anything organic that they recognize as food, including carrion although they prefer fresh food.
  • Ogres have no qualms about eating the flesh of sentient species, including other ogres.
  • Ogres require massive amounts of food

Spirituality

Worship

Ogres worshiped the human gods before the god war. The human gods actually started as the jötunn gods.

  • Ogres played a very minor role in the god war, to the point where they didn't really have much impact at all.

Afterlife

Most ogres do not have an afterlife.

  • Ogres who worshiped human gods may go to that god's afterlife if they are faithful or find their souls in Kras-Kel for sinning. Most ogres that do worship human gods, usually find themselves in the latter realm.

Magic and Technology

Magic

Ogres are not very skilled at magic.

  • Pure ogres have no natural magics, and must learn what they use.
  • Ogres have a difficult time with most learned magics.
  • Only about 5% of ogres have the potential to become sorcerers.
    • These sorcerers are known as oni, and many are often revered among ogres as leaders and powerful.

Technology

Ogres understand technology easier than they do magic but not by much.

  • Ogres generally use primitive technology but are opportunists. While they generally don't have the skills to build armor and guns, they are just as likely to use bombs and polearms as clubs and rocks.
  • Ogres generally do not innovate. They either steal technology or are given it by stronger allies.

Culture

Taboos

Ogres are generally not prudish in their culture and thus don't have many taboos.

  • Combat prowess and raw strength trumps all other social rules for the ogres. Might makes right.
    • The exception to this is magic. Ogres are generally terrified of magic and as such, oni are terrifying to normal ogres.
  • Ogres have no nudity taboo.
  • Ogres have no incest taboo.
  • Ogres have no bestiality taboo, but generally see animals as food over sexual objects.
  • Ogres have no homosexuality taboo.
  • Ogres do not have a taboo against underage sex, though most find it pointless until a child can be produced, so when it does occur it is generally for sport.
  • Ogres only show weakness in a relationship after combat: the winner of the fight is the dominant individual in the relationship.

Residence

Ogres are generally nomadic, punctuated by long periods of sedentariness.

  • Once ogres find a place with suitable food, they hunker down until the area is depleted for their liking.
  • Ogres prefer not to rest in the open but do not generally build homes, preferring caves.
  • If an ogre finds itself in a populated area, it may stay as long as the local populace provide it with food.
  • Ogres are usually solitary, but they may be found in mated pairs, with offspring, or in association with larger organizations of other races.

Other Considerations

  • Ogres can be found in association with more "savage" races such as orcs, usually as shock troops but warbands and armies may also outfit them with armor and use them to break up battlefield formations.
  • Rarely, ogres can also be used for labor and entertainment as gladiators for powers with the resources and manpower to keep an ogre in chains and alive.
  • With the exception of oni, ogres are very rarely leaders of military units, though normal ogres may use their strength to extort villages for food.
