Life Hacks/Call Officer Thompsett back and get some information on that junior police academy thing
You wonder for a moment what to do, all the events of the past few hours are just whirling by you, it just all seems so unreal. So unreal in fact that you almost can’t stand to go back to your old life just yet. Somehow, that actually makes you more unsettled. Diving deeper down this rabbit hole seems like the only thing that will bring you any comfort and satisfaction at this point. This in mind, you pull out the card officer Thompsett gave you and in this moment it feels like a life-line to you. Yeah, you’ve made your decision, you’re gonna freaking do it. You give a good hard pull on this “life-line” you’re holding, and it brings you straight to the phone, and then it brings you to the living room couch as you dial the number.
You still feel like your head is spinning as you listen to the phone ring. By the time it gets done ringing once, you are already asking yourself why the hell you are doing this. With the second ring, you feel as though the pit of your stomach dropped out of your body and down into a bottomless pit that just opened up under you. Half way through the third ring, you get a response. “Hello?” You hear the voice of the female officer you just spoke with a short time ago at the park.
“Uhh… hi.” You say, rapidly trying to gather your thoughts.
“Uhh… hi.. uhh… who is this?” She asks, making you instantly kick yourself into mental shape and snapping you out of your temporary fog.
“Oh! Uh.. sorry. This is Xander… uhh… Alexander Cole, from the park just earlier.”
“OH!” She responds. “Sorry, that whole mess was still screwing with my mind, I didn’t recognize your voice there,” she gives a quick cough, seemingly trying to regain composure herself. “Wow, I didn’t expect to get a call back from you so soon. I just got out of the interrogation room with… him… yeah.”
“Well that doesn’t exactly sound like a professional thing to talk about over the phone with a civi,” you say, easing your own nerves a bit more with this light call out.
“Heh, right. Anyway, I haven’t had time to look up any of that police academy stuff yet. I take it you’re interested then?”
“Yeah, I guess, well, I thought I would at least look into it as an option.”
“Well, it’s not a bad option at all,” she says, “I think it’s probably good for someone your age, even if you don’t wind up joining the force when you graduate.”
“I’ll think about it,” you assure her with a positive tone.
“Anyway, I’ll gather the materials up. You could probably actually find the stuff pretty easy with an internet search, but if you want to come by the station later I could probably scrape up some stuff, maybe see what I can do about a letter of recommendation to start you out in good standing.”
“Hah, maybe,” you say.
Will you go to the station later?
