“Hey, uhh… Trish?” You say to the woman who is returning after having dealt with your sister and is now dealing with her own gender-changed daughter.

“Yeah?” She responds with a gentle and caring look as her eyes flick down to Billy who you are cradling in your arms still as you rise up to stand.

“Uhh… well…” you hesitate a moment, “I kinda want to help Billy out, but I’m not sure if my mom would agree to me suddenly bringing some strange… some stranger into our house and say I want them to live with us. Uhh… do you think that…”

Trish has a difficult expression on her face as she eyes Billy and then gives out a sigh. “Are you trying to ask me to look after him?” She asks, “I’m not sure about that,” she says. It’s written all over her face, there is something she saw in Billy that is making her rather uncomfortable. Well, she probably should have seen everything about how “he” was in the field, and also saw how “he” still seemed attached to “his” father, who is, of course, like that. She has children of her own to look after, it’s understandable she would be hesitant. Also, knowing the disposition of her girls Vs. your sisters from what you were able to gather from your interactions thus far, your household would be far more capable of dealing with Billy than hers would.

“How about this,” you put your negotiation skills to work, “we can just head to your house for now until we can get things to settle down. In the meantime, I’ll try and convince my mom into letting… letting him stay at my house.” You decide for the time being not to reveal “Billy’s” real gender, instead going with the gender she has been presenting to everyone and also seems to be rather convinced is her real gender as well.

“Well…” Trish hesitates again. “Ok, I guess I can agree to that. Are you coming along as well?”

What will you do?
