Mark/Writers/Rules

There is not as much to deal with in this story compared to my other stories, but I'll go over some guideline to help out writers. There are also a few actual rules.

Rules:

These are the rules, abide by them.

As with all stories on this site, follow the Format Rules.

Unlike my other stories this story is to be written in 3rd person omniscient tense. This means that you write as though the reader is an outside force that can know how every character thinks and feels. Only the character affected by the mark should be followed however.
I reserve the right to delete poorly written entries.
I reserve the right to amend or edit these rules at my whim.

The Norns and The Mark of Fate

The reader takes the part of all three Norse Norns. They had the dwarves create the mark to test humanity. The Norns are:

Uld: Whose name means "fate". She gives a person their destiny when they are born. If you are referencing an option of great importance, Uld can be referenced.
Verdandi: Whose name means "happening" or "the present". She is in control of what is currently going on. If you are referencing something that is already happening (perhaps in another location), Verdandi can be referenced. This will most likely only happen if someone is flipping the mark that has been left elsewhere since the story follows the one marked.
Skuld: Whose name means "future". She determines events that are yet to happen. She is the one you will most likely reference in relation to options.

What the Mark of Fate does

If the mark is flipped, dropped, spun, or by any other means made to take a random facing, the person who did so undergoes the effects of the mark until such time as another person does so. The results are determined by the face that is showing when the mark comes to rest.

Heads

Heads is marked by three faces and the names of the three Norns.

The marked individual will be very lucky.
The marked individual will experience serendipity (being in the right place at the right time).
The marked individual will be treated with apathy or better.
Any command or request made BY the marked individual will be obeyed.

Tails

Tails is marked by a knotwork dragon and the name of the dragon that eats the roots of Yggdrasil, the world tree; namely Nidhoggr.

The marked individual will be very unlucky.
The marked individual will experience the opposite of serendipity (being in the wrong place at the wrong time).
The marked individual will be treated with apathy or worse.
Any command or request made TO the marked individual will be obeyed.
