Backstory

The Unknown Forest has been there since before the wolves came to the island nearly ten thousand years ago. Nobody has come back from any attempts to look inside, or even sometimes go inside, and it still remains a mystery as to what lies within the walls.

Nobody remembers how the cats got to the island, nor where they came from, but around seven hundred years ago, they arrived. They stayed at peace with the wolves for close to three hundred years, then, that all changed.

Not much is known as to why they went to war, except for a seemingly unprovoked attack on the cats, by the wolves. The wolves were much stronger, of course, and quickly pushed the border of the unprepared Cat Kingdom back.

The border has not moved since, despite the constant war. They have been mostly evenly matched in battle: the wolves' strength, versus the cats' small size and ease of movement. It made for a long drawn out war, many lives lost on both sides, many hearts broken, many generations came and went.

The battle was a very fierce one, seeming to take no breaks, within five miles of the border was a dangerous place to go, even for a few minutes. They mostly kept the war to the border between them, not attacking from a different side, in the ocean or the Neutral Zone.

Five years ago, the wolves attacked Felin from the sea, an act that had never been done in that war, and many unsuspecting lives were lost. Among the dead, were Queen Charlotte and Princess Natalie, of the Cat Kingdom. There was great grief throughout the kingdom, and the entire border was put on guard, even the border to the Neutral Zone, in case they decided to attack again.

King Frederick's grief was great, and he spend every day since, planning an attack on Lupin, to kill King George in revenge for the death of his wife. Then when the plan was finished, he set out with his army, in boats, and they started sailing north. Little did King Frederick, or any of his men, know, that the wolves were expecting them when they arrived...
