Pass It Along/8

From All The Fallen Stories

For the first time since arriving in their new home, the family began to split up. Never split up the party! were the words resounding through the air as they made their first big mistake. But of course, how could they do any different. Mandy had signed up Brittany and Aaron to Imir's games, along with herself as the youngest player. That evening, they would have their worlds opened up to a whole new type of excitement. The question was, would they ever be able to, or even want to, go back to their normal life again?

Dylan and Divinity have been exploring the house, blissfully unaware of what their children were getting involved with, or what it would do to them. Taking in a history that didn't quite make sense, they prepared to write their own family story to add to the rich tapestry of Rosespring Manor. Little did they know that they wouldn't be doing much of their own writing at all!

Ophelia had so far tried to impress her parents with her interest in the culture and history. It seemed nothing would happen to her. The oldest sister, the one who got away. At least, that's how it might have been before she discovered her childhood years weren't as behind her as she thought.

For now, it was Barry who would succumb to the houses nature. Desperate to find the song that plagued him until he had to lose it. His usual rough and heavy music didn't seem to be enough. He was desperate to get this softer, quieter then back into his head. He practically ran from the protected library to find it. The moment he was clear of the room it was there, waiting for him. Slow and steady, a soft and gentle tune that seemed to charm him.

Come with me. And you'll be. In a world of pure imagination...

Barry relaxed again when he heard it. He put his own music away and tried to follow where this new song was coming from. Eventually he found his way back to the main foyer, the large doors to one end. At each back corner was a large flight of stairs that met at the top. This was only one of the Flores in this gigantic house. This must have been the way to some of the bedrooms and who knows what else?! Something from that what else was the source of this beautiful music.

From here, Barry could hear it so much more clearly. It was a voice. No, two voices. Two young voices that fit together so perfectly. They came from behind a small door not far from his current location in the house. He pushed the door open slowly to reveal a bright colourful room behind it. Normally, Barry would have turned away from a space this colourful without a moments hesitation. Here, however, he felt drawn inside.

The floor was covered by all sorts of games and toys, ranging from cars and trucks, to board games and playing cards. Sat in the middle of all the toys were two more children, the ones who seemed to be singing to him. A girl, appearing to be no more than 8 years of age, and a boy who looked practically identical except the small selection that lay between his legs. That was the strangest thing about them - neither wore a stitch of clothing, their small, young bodies on full display.

"Wh-who are you?" Barry asked nervously. What on earth had he walked into?!

"Names are boring!" The boy answered abruptly. "We're here to play."

"Wh-why are you naked?" Barry swallowed deeply, steeling himself to try and have a normal conversation with these weird children.

"To play of course!" The girl answered with a giggle. It seemed this was another pair who liked to alternate their sentences.

"Where are your parents?"

"We don't have any parents silly. We just like to play here." By this point, both of them were on their feet in full view of their subject, urging him inwards so they could have some real fun.

"Are you the kids my brother saw outside?"

"Not at all. We usually leave the younger kids to Imir. Your sister is too old for our liking. We can be way more temptous, even mischievous with guys like you." It came to the girls turn to give the explanation Barry didn't know he was waiting for.

"And it's been so long since we've had a guy like you come by our playground!" The boy licked his lips. If Barry didn't know better, he'd had thought these two were going to eat him, rape him, or something worse. Maybe he really didn't know better!

"How old are you?" He asked tentatively.

"We can be however old you want us to be." The girl grinned, clutching hold of their prey with each passing question. "We could be children, or teenagers like yourself. Anything older than that is boring, but we could do it if you ask nicely enough."

"What are you?" Barry thought this would be the worst question he could ask.

"She's a Sucuubus, I'm an Incuubus, and we're here to make your worst dreams come true!"
