SW:CES:ROTS:Padmé/Mustafar/Go to Anakin/Join the Dark Side
You know all the horrible things he’s done. You know the terrible things that this new empire will unleash onto the galaxy. You were there and saw, with your own eyes, the empire be born and heard the thunderous applause as liberty died. But even though you can’t believe these things and are horrified at what has happened, Anakin is still yours husband, the father of your child. You can’t leave him, even after everything he’s done and will do. You can’t leave your child fatherless. You love Anakin more than anything. Even the your own nation and the galaxy.
”Anakin,” you choke as the tears stream down your cheeks. “What you did... has ended the Republic. It’s put billions of people under the heels of totalitarian monsters. But even so... I can’t deny you. I... I’ll help you. We’ll make sure the Empire is a peaceful, safe place for our child,” as you place your hand on your belly.
A part of you is disgusted that you would use your child to justify this authoritarian act. But your love for Anakin transcends that. In fact, a part of you workers about what you could do with your power.
“So that’s how it is?” says a mysterious voice from behind you.
You and Anakin turn in the direction of the voice and see a distressed and furious Obi-Wan on the ship. He steps down from the ship, staring at you in a look of disbelief.
“How could you do this Padmé? You’ve betrayed the galaxy!”
”The Jedi have failed the galaxy!” Anakin growled, stepping in front of you. “Padmé and I will bring peace, freedom, justice, and security to our new empire!”
“Your new empire?” Obi-Wan says, looking directly to you, likely trying to appeal to your morals. You start to cry and simply nod. “Padmé, our allegiance is to the Republic, to democracy!”
”If you are not with us,” Anakin snarled as he draws his lightsaber. “then you’re our enemy.”
“Only a Sith deals in absolutes,” he says, coldly as we draws his lightsaber. “I will do what I must. I will make sure your child is raised in a healthy environment.”
At this, Anakin grows furious and charges him with a strong slash. Obi-Wan blocks it and the two begin a furious fight. Their anger and drive is frightening and you dart back and forth between them. Did you make the right choice? Should you join Anakin? Is Obi-Wan telling the truth? Would he take care of you? Can you go back? Can you betray Anakin?
