"Surely not," you think. but next swing forward and it's there again. His knob-head is poking out of the leg of his shorts. He looks across at you and then realises where you are looking. "Oh! Sorry," he says, jumping off the swing and tugging his shorts down.

"I thought you went into the woods with the others," you say, wondering if this boy might have hidden talents.

He's blushing. "Yeah. Well. I didn't wanna go without you." He mumbles the last part so it takes a moment to work out what he said.
