You turn your focus onto Mindy. She's wearing a strapless dress that ends about halfway down her thighs and nothing else, not even panties. She has no profession and no money, so the way she pays for her drugs is with her body.

The only reason she doesn't sleep in a box on the street is because, to keep her as safe as he could, her brother Marlon took her in. She sleeps on a mattress in his garage, and he has given her an old pillow and some blankets. The door leading into the house leads to a hallway, with a small bathroom off to one side. Marlon has barricaded the hallway so Mindy can't get into the main part of the house.

He brings her food twice a day, in the morning and evening, and tries to talk to her. Mindy knows she should get off the drugs and make something of herself, but addiction is a powerful thing.

She wakes, does her morning routine in the bathroom, and returns to find Marlon waiting in the garage. He's turned on the overhead light and has two paper plates of food and two plastic cups of water waiting on the small table. As usual, he tries to talk her into making something of herself. Mindy is thankful for having such a caring brother, but she just wants to cry. Can't he see that her addiction is overwhelming and she can't do anything about it?

They finish up and toss the plates and cups in the trash.
