I had a few plans for this character,

  • If Hugo has lighter skin, then his wife Ana has a secret that she was molested while crossing the border which is why Julia has darker skin.
  • Because most Hispanics are Catholic, Hugo is uncircumcised to comply with Deuteronomy 23:1 depending on how it's interpreted
"Those with cut, or maimed penises can not enter the house of the Lord." (The law of Jesus overrules the law of Moses)
  • This also brings up a problem with Sonia. If she gets pregnant, she will ask Mr. Gardener to marry her to comply with "Deuteronomeo c23 v22". Again, how she'd interpret it
"Babies born out of wedlock can not enter heaven"

So we'd probably have to have Father Isidro tell her it's alright, or just go ahead and marry her. (This would be after we've married Mary and Diya.)
