The Story of Hanna/Slave Market/Day One/Couple of hours later

As Thomas hears that you're a fresh face, and that he's your very first customer in this environment, he compliments you on your skills. You don't tell him where you're from, and honestly, he doesn't even seem to care all that much. He decides to do you a favor, and he tells you more about rules and codes of conduct and teaches you how to push the rules and do technically illegal things while keeping it within the rule book. Basically, he tells you everything Gilles won't. He calls it "taking an advantage of the system", and yes, you do learn A LOT. You even learn that some of the guards even encourage this kind of behavior, even against Gilles's wishes. It won't even get you in trouble! Or, at least, it shouldn't. You immediately feel a lot wiser about the rules and what you can - and sometimes must - do, and you also feel like you can now do a better job, especially since some of the customers might not be as cunning as the others. If you can teach the customers how to push to the limit, it can get you far with the right customers.

Hours go by and you continue to make money for Gilles through your involuntary - yet surprisingly fun - service. Ten tickets, or two and half hours of private sessions have been crammed into this short time span, so you haven't really had much free time. You never did anything as exciting as you did with Thomas, but that's fine. Different customers want you for different things, and that's okay. Most of them are okay with you just talking. You even made a good enough impression on two of them to consider renting you. They both backed down after they heard your price, disappointed. They came for your service but in the end settled for a cheaper girl to fuck.

There's still at least six hours until the doors close, so your day is just starting. You wonder, will you even get any breaks? Oh, who are you kidding. No way in hell a slave would be given a break.

Having just served a happy customer, you look around, and you realize that Gilles is present. He's talking with another man you recognize. That's the guard from yesterday. What was his name again? Herbert? They see you, finally free from your obligations to paying customers, and they walk up to you.

"I see you've got a good job", Gilles says, rubbing his thumb over his index and middle fingers. That's the money sign, so he's definitely talking about profits. "It's too bad you haven't been rented though. I probably have to lower your price to get you into some more profitable waters."

You feel a need to apologize. "Hanna is sorry, master."

"It's not your fault", Gilles says, laughing. "But if you want to improve your performance, try getting some of the wealthier customers drunk…"

It's something you didn't even think about. He's definitely right about drunk people being much easier to trick into spending money.

"That changes now, though", Gilles says, tapping Herbert on his shoulder. "It is a custom here that the people who make me profit get to benefit from them. You'll be serving him."

So, you have to serve the very man who caused you to be in this mess? You've eaten some tough cookies throughout your life, but above most of them, this has to rank in top five. It's because of him that you're here, and on top of that, he caused Leon to be arrested too. All based on admitted lies! You find it hard to accept this, and it shows on your face. Herbert closes in on you and locks the leash on your collar. He gives it one playful pull, almost as if mocking you. "Let's go, Hanna."

"Remember to do everything he says", Gilles reminds you. "You will be punished harshly if you disobey him."

You still don't know what this punishment could be, but you don't want a bad thing to happen on top of a bad thing. In this case, two negatives definitely don't make a positive. You don't even get time to reply to your master in kind, before his attention is drawn to one of the customers approaching him. Herbert pulls on the leash again, ordering you to move, treating you like a dog. You follow in his trail, reluctantly, and have him take you up couple of floors to the place where he will have his fun with you.
