From All The Fallen Stories
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The previous week was a time of intense experimentation. Thousands accidentally killed themselves while adjusting their own biology. This mostly happened as they overrode their natural response to a negative change. Interest in biology exploded when it was discovered that actually knowing what you wanted to change made it easier and faster. A more accessible effect was that any disease or illness was now almost instantly cured. How could a virus fight back when a person could direct their immune system directly? Cancer was just a thought or two away from being told to die, or even directed into growing back into normal cells. Pharmaceutical stocks went into complete free fall.

New forms of psychological addiction made themselves known as people started having their bodies produce all sorts of habit-forming chemicals. The addictions remained psychological due to the ability to revert any physical damage done.

News media was very quick to note that the complete control actually overwrite the wish that forced young boys to fart, although boys being boys, many chose to continue. Other notable stories included a man who managed to regrow two inches of a missing leg, with indications that he would be able to regrow the entire thing with the correct diet and enough patience.

Diet was found to still be necessary, but exercise was now completely optional, but fast changes put extreme stress on the body. Sometimes resulting in death.

The religious violence actually increased this week as many claimed that the new control was in some way evil. Advertising efforts this week were fragmented and lost in the general noise of day to day existence.

As the appointed hour approached, the world waited. "Hello Humanity, your faithful administrator is back. I hope you all have the best wishes for me. Let's not waste any time. Spin spin spin, aaaand." The voice paused a moment. "Well, it seems you all want to know more about me and the wishes in general... I'm going to have to run this past management to see how much to tell you before your brains implode... Until then, let's just spin again real fast for a two for one this week. And the wish I can grant immediately is, 'Make Love, Not War'. That's nice. I'll see you next week with as much information as I can get you."

Mechanically, it's pretty simple. Any thoughts of harming another turn to lust instead. This could result in an increased number of rapes, as the thoughts of harm caused by the rape feed back into more lust, but in practice the lust tends to overwhelm the aggression needed to carry out the rape itself. It's still possible, but less likely.

The second wish is in limbo for a week or so.
