The school day at Thomas Jefferson High School uses Block Scheduling and is split into alternating schedules of:
- 1st Period 8:00 - 9:30
- 2nd Period 9:30 - 11:00
- Lunch/Homeroom 11:00 - 12:00 Lunch is split between "A" and "B" lunch periods of 1/2 hour with the Homeroom comprising the other 1/2 hour
- 3rd Period 12:00 - 1:30

Classes alternate from day to day by the primary school colors, red and gold. This gives students eight subjects split over two days, and a longer period of time than traditional classrooms to learn and absorb the information.
