As I said in a previous comment, this is my normal so far as writing characters goes. I just habitually write them smart, the solution just popped into my head easily, the only challenge was writing for convincing opposition from the headmaster. That's part of the challenge. I think it's a solution that makes perfect sense, but I have to somehow put myself in the mind-space of someone who cannot see that it's a good solution, and that's hard sometimes. As I said in a previous comment, this is my normal so far as writing characters goes. I just habitually write them smart, the solution just popped into my head easily, the only challenge was writing for convincing opposition from the headmaster. That's part of the challenge. I think it's a solution that makes perfect sense, but I have to somehow put myself in the mind-space of someone who cannot see that it's a good solution, and that's hard sometimes.
