Here is a reference for the characters in the story as they are initially. If I haven't fleshed things out well enough feel free to refine the character more. If you're making significant changes/additions to the character please run them by me first. --Elerneron (talk) 17:22, 7 October 2016 (CEST)

The Cole Family

Cole Family History

Rich knocked up his girlfriend Inga in high school. He did the "right thing" and married her. Luckily both families were relatively well-off and they were both able to attend college while raising young Brittany. Inga got a degree in business, and Rich got a degree in IT.

Rich went to work, but Inga was pregnant again, so decided to wait a while before looking for a job. She was frustrated with having to become a "homemaker", but kept it to herself. After the twins were born, she started working part-time. She got pregnant again just about the time she was in line for a promotion, and is certain her pregnancy was the reason she was passed over. Bastian was born even though they were using condoms at the time.

With the failure of the condoms, she started putting out less and less. One fateful night, Rich had a liaison with a stripper named Shauna (illegally working at 15 years old). He regretted the act immediately, and rededicated himself to his marriage. He was contacted by Shauna a few months later to tell him she was pregnant. He tried to do the right thing by supporting Shauna financially, but couldn't bring himself to leave his frigid wife. He soon discovered that she was pregnant as well (much to her chagrin).

Angel and Rahne were born within two months of one another. Inga decided to focus on her career more seriously, and started taking birth control. Regardless, she got pregnant again with Veronica. At that point she divorced Rich after an argument about getting her tubes tied. After the divorce she got them tied. Rich eventually hooked up with Shauna and they had another child together. Rich has custody of his children every other weekend.

Mother's Side

Inga

Ingrid Guinevere Hanson-Cole is a driven career woman. She loves her children, but family is second to her career.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Brittany

Brittany Ann Cole is a freshman college student. She is friendly and popular, and loves her family. She lives on campus, but returns as frequently as she can to see her family.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Xander

Alexander James Cole (gender-swap: Alexandra Jane Cole) is an ugly duckling that is not going to grow into a swan. He got the raw end of the genetic lottery when it comes to physical attributes. In a family of beautiful people he feels completely isolated. Xander is somewhat bi-sexual, but with a strong preference for girls. In potential homosexual couplings he is a "top", and prefers to be the one in control.

Charity

Charity Jane Cole is a popular "mean girl" in school. She has always been overly critical of her twin, and the practice paid off in high school. She doesn't realize that the root of her animosity is a hidden sexual desire for her twin.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Bastian

Sebastian Hannibal Cole is an active, outgoing child prone to getting in trouble. He doesn't actively seek trouble, but he finds it none-the-less while simply trying to amuse himself.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Angel

Angelica Rose Cole is a sweet little girl. She acts a bit younger than she is, and seems in no hurry to grow up. She has a massive collection of stuffed animals.

Angelica's world seems to revolve around the approval of her mother, father, and older siblings Brittany and Xander. She has distanced herself from her older sister Charity somewhat since she senses her mother and Brittany disapprove of her interacting with Charity too much since they were caught touching each other's privates 4 years ago, and Charity is also always fighting with Xander, so between the two she takes the side of the sibling who will not earn her disapproving glances from Brittany. She is not obsessive over gaining their approval, but it is all she understands as a means by witch to approach the world.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Roni

Veronica Renee Cole is a little tomboy. She doesn't care for dolls or stuffed animals, and would much rather be playing sports, or racing slotcars. She finds underwear uncomfortable, and is always getting in trouble for not wearing them.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Father's Side

Rich

Richard Allen Cole is a dedicated father and family man. He values responsibility and integrity very highly.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Shauna

Shauna Electra Lovett is a beautiful sensual woman of African and Cuban descent. She is a bit flirty, and somewhat absent-minded leading to the mistaken impression that she is an airhead bimbo. She is actually quite intelligent, but will sometime play the bimbo part to manipulate things to her advantage.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Rahne

Rahne (pronounce like the word rain) Song Lovett is a precocious preteen. She is aware of her growing sexuality and uses it to her advantage, though she is still developing this skill and can sometimes be a bit too obvious.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Kizzie

Mackinsey Lynn Lovett is your basic happy todder. She is currently getting into everything, being in the "terrible twos" stage of development. She is an outgoing, and very trusting toddler with a lot of love to give and an upbeat, curious disposition. She is called "Kizzie" because that's how she says Kinsey, which was the nickname she was originally given by her parents.

The Wells Family

Wells Family History

Patricia is the child of Irish Catholic immigrants. Her childhood was very strict and regulated, especially sexually. She wasn't even allowed to date until she was sixteen, and from the age of sixteen to eighteen she was only allowed on chaperoned dates. When she was seventeen, her parents had their second child, her sister Siobhan. Contrary to most stereotypes of an Irish Catholic household, she does not have a tremendous number of siblings. This is due to the fact that her father was, in fact, a self-hating homosexual; though no one alive is aware of this fact. Her mother was sex-deprived, and the frustration made her more severe with her children than she would otherwise have been.

When she finally went to college, and was exposed to the real world, she quickly discarded her strict upbringing for a more enlightened perspective. She became an ardent atheist bordering on anti-theism. She also did a LOT of college experimentation over a brief period of time, but the guilt produced by her upbringing pushed through her new-found logical view of the world to curtail her actions greatly. She met her husband-to-be, an Army Ranger in college. They had a long distance relationship for a while, and her discipline from her childhood actually made it work. After she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications she married her sweetheart. They moved to his home town where she got a job with the local radio station.

Her husband was away for long periods of time, generally acting as a military consultant with the locals in the Middle East. Dante was born during one of his absences, and Patricia devoured everything she could on the rearing of children. This was the start of her fear of germs, obsessive cleaning, and adoption of a vegan lifestyle. Her husband did not adopt veganism with his wife and child. Not long after Dante was born, Patricia's parents were killed in a collision with a fleeing criminal. Siobhan was sent to live with her sister at the age of eight years old.

Four years after Dante was born, his sister Ellen was born. A little less than a year later, Patricia's husband was killed in Iraq. The death of her husband cemented her dedication to raising her children well, exasperating her obsession with cleanliness and nutrition. She began to fear for her children's physical safety at that time, and decided to curtail any extreme physical activities that had too great a risk of physical injury. Siobhan was twelve at the time, but fortunately for her was not a terribly active child.

Trish

Patricia Shannon O'Connell-Wells is a dedicated and overprotective widowed single mother. She reserves the nickname Trish to family and close friends. She is a very progressive mother; and prefers to answer her children's questions honestly rather than use the tired old lies that people have used in the past to obfuscate complex subjects to their children. She is raising her children vegan, under the (somewhat mistaken) impression that it is the healthiest lifestyle. Unfortunately, with a vegan lifestyle it is complicated and challenging to get the proper levels of nutrition; and her children are actually a bit undernourished. She obsessively cleans her house, and does everything she can to limit her children's exposure to germs. This has backfired once again as the children have a weaker immune system from not having been exposed to many microorganisms. She is very opposed to violence, and does what she can to limit any kind of rough play with her children. This makes football an unacceptable sport, but baseball and basketball are just acceptable. Trish is a passionate woman, but has put that side of her life on hold to dedicate herself fully to rearing her children. Because of this there is a sexual dynamo hiding just under the surface.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Siobhan

Siobhan (Celtic name pronounced SHI-vahn) Caitlin O'Connell. Siobhan is Patricia's sister. She was relatively young when their parents died, and was raised predominantly by her sister and her husband.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

  • Body shame: Special. (behavior suggests 100%, will become effectively 10% after first consensual sex act.)
  • Net modifier balance (Taboos and interest): Special. (40 trust binary cut-off. Almost any sex act is doable with trust of 40 or more.)

  • Notes on personality

Dante

Dante Edgar Wells (gender-swap: Danica Esther Wells) is a wimpy kid who is a bit smothered by his mother's over-protection. He also is starving for a father figure in his life. He barely remembers his father, having been four years old when he died. He want's to engage in "normal" boy activities, but his mother and his health severely curtails such things. He has developed some effeminate traits from his mother, and is very embarrassed when these are pointed out.

Sexual Resistance to Xander. (Start of story)

Ellie

Ellen Rachael Wells is a sweet five year old girl. She is very much a girly-girl. Her mother's manner of rearing her has created an early need to be clean, neat, and pretty. She abhors being at all dirty or untidy. She refuses to go to the park with her brother when he goes to play, and instead spends her time at with her aunt while he and her mother are at the park.

The Richards Family

Richards Family History

Hank was raised is an intolerant household. He was taught to hate all non-white races, that a woman's place was serving a man, and that a man could never show weakness. Hank was a little more liberal than his father, but not by much. He entered the police force to get his father's approval. Hank married his wife right out of the police academy, and they were soon expecting a child. He was furious that it was a girl, but figured he could get a son next time.

It wasn't long after having their daughter, Wilhelmina, that his wife was pregnant again. When he found out the second child his wife was pregnant with was also going to be a daughter, he began to grow distant and he and his wife began to argue more. He began to drink heavily after work. One day he came home drunk, and his wife decided she had had enough and began getting on his case. He wound up knocking her down the stairs, causing her to break her neck and die. Hank managed to hide his involvement in his wife's death, and his unborn second daughter with her. He chose to start raising his daughter as a boy.

Hank

Henry Caleb Richards is a misogynistic police officer. He used to have better control over his regressive views and managed to keep it out of his day to day life, accepting that the rest of the world had different opinions from him, but that started to change after he killed his wife. The guilt and shame of the murder wound up triggering a psychotic break that has been causing him to slowly unravel for the 7 years since this incident. Included in this, he began obsessing over how he was never going to get a son now and was stuck with just his daughter. At the same time, another part of him began fearing for his daughter, seeing the vulnerability of girls as the reason why his wife and unborn daughter died. To satisfy both of these fears at once, he decided to start raising his daughter as a boy. Recently, since she has gotten good at following the role he has forced on her along with his psychosis worsening, he has actually forgotten that she is a girl and legitimately thinks that "Billie" is a boy.

The Holiday Family

Holiday Family History

The Holiday family traces its roots back through Ireland and England to Scotland where the name was originally spelled many different ways. The Holidays are tangentially related to John Henry "Doc" Holliday, but they are not in his direct family line. They are aware of all of this because Chris is an avid amateur genealogist, and has done the research. He has a framed Halliday Coat of Arms and Scottish Tartan hanging on the wall in their living room, as well as displaying Halliday memorabilia throughout the house. The Halliday line is predominantly protestant, but Chris's family line descends from a member of the family that converted to Catholicism in Ireland.

Chris's father wanted to name a child Christmas for a long time, but for four children his wife would hear none of it. She finally relented on the fifth child, allowing Chris's father the joy of introducing his son as Christmas Holiday. Chris was teased about it some in school, but overall got more positive attention from his name than negative. This lead to him wanting to name his children to play off of their last name as well.

Chris met his wife-to-be Lynnette in college. He was studying psychology while she was studying literature. The two hit it off, and when they eventually started talking about children found that they both wanted a large family. Lynn also was ecstatic over the idea to give their children meaningful names based on their last name. They were married about midway through school at the age of 20. They had Summer that year, and moved to a house outside of Campus. Both parents worked nights to stay in college and raise their family while still tithing regularly to the Church and attending service. They had Winny the year they graduated with four year degrees.

Lynn started working as a professional proof-reader while taking care of the children while Chris entered medical school on his way to becoming a psychiatrist. They had March his first year in medical school. The next year Lynn's work garnered her a regular job with a publishing company where she was permitted to work from home, and the identical twins Autumn and Spring were born. Jan was born the year after that. The "Irish twins" Febby and April were born in Chris's last year of medical school.

Chris then moved on to his residency at a psychiatric hospital. May was born the first year of his residency, August the second. The next year Lynn was promoted to editor, and they had to move to Manhattan. Chris transferred his residency and they moved their massive family outside of the city, with Lynn commuting to work each morning. June was born in the third year of Chris's residency, and Lloyd on his final year.

They spent another eight months in New York, during which time July was born. Chris stayed on at the psychiatric hospital of his residency during those eight months, then they decided to move. The publishing company Lynn worked for was doing poorly with the decline of traditional publishing, and the couple was getting tired of the crime and high cost of living. Chris secured a position in a smaller town with a mental health doctor's group (consisting of neurosurgeons, neurologists, other psychiatrists, and psychologists); and they moved the family. Such a large family needed a large home, and Chris took a gamble and purchased an defunct public library in the old town center when the modern city buildings were build in the "new downtown". Most of the municipal buildings had already been demolished to make way for housing and small shops. The library is one of the last original structures from the old municipal buildings, and is surrounded by newer architecture making it stand out like a sore thumb. He paid for what renovation they could afford to make it into a home. The family moved in and worked nights and weekends to finish the library's transformation into a home. Octo, Nove, Decy, and Hally were born over the next six years. With the birth of Hally is became apparent that Lynn was unlikely to be able to carry another child to term.

Lynn

Lynnette Gertrude Ford-Holiday is a dedicated mother. She is rather active, but has still had difficulty ridding herself of her "baby-weight". While she is only pleasantly plump, and not terribly overweight, she is still a little self-conscious about her weight. She is more concerned with the possibility that she might never have another child to let her weight bother her too much though. She has been working on a novel since they moved to town; nearly six years. She has written plenty of material, but self-doubt and a standard of perfectionism in her writing have stymied the completion of the project. 37 years old.
