I think something might have been missed here, there is a "no males on campus" rule with an exception made for Jack only with very strict limitations of him only going between 2 locations. Perhaps those limits are being stretched a bit? (Might have been stretched a bit in the past already and relaxed over the years of him living here, but should still be mentioned.) I agree that going and getting her is the more favorable path, and Jack's mom has dropped several hints during this exchange that, that is exactly what he should do. However the more Beta path is to have his mom summon her. Less for Jack to actually do. His mom and Dannie are doing all the work.
