Out in the countryside, a few hours away from the human city of Kanton by carriage, sits the sprawling estate of the De la Rue family. A massive plot of land consisting of open fields and a small portion of the nearby forest to the north; and in the middle sits a large, elaborate mansion, three stories high with well over a hundred rooms in total. Other buildings dot the property, including a smaller building housing the servants behind the mansion, stables and barns around the farms in the southeast, and even a small chapel tucked away in the forest.

The land has been under the ownership of the De la Rue family for generations, having been bought and developed long ago after Ernest De la Rue's great grandfather made a fortune when he bought the rights to an abandoned mine that turned out to be rich in mana-stones, rare gems with the unique ability to store magical energy. Since then the De la Rue family went on to become one of the largest dealers in mana-stones across all Luminia.

In the present day the estate is something of its own little village, with the many servants either working on the farms, tending to the property, or serving in the mansion. Ernest De la Rue is the current patriarch of the family, but has passed on most of the duties in managing the company to his son and his wife, Gerald and Felice. Lastly, there's Larissa, the only child and current heir to the family business, who spends her days with her tutors in lessons, with her family at social gatherings, or playing around the property.

Life here is pretty peaceful for the most part, but for young Larissa that is soon about to change. For one, she's about to have a magical encounter unlike anything she could've imagined. For another, this encounter will lead her down the path towards many, many embarrassing situations.

Now, how are things about to change?
