Your thoughts are racing as you try to process all of this. You really don't want to do more to these already clearly very traumatized girls. Even if nothing's been done to Tatiana, it sounds like she still witnessed it all happening to her friend on multiple occasions, and that's got her every bit as scared as if it had happened to her.

You sigh. "Alright. It sounds like you've already been punished pretty bad," you say, rubbing the side of Syvia's face. "I might be able to do something to make it so it's not as bad for you."

"You're not going to punish us?" Tatiana asks.

"I'm sorry, I have to. If I don't, I think Tatiana's dad will find someone to do it as bad as your daddy does it, maybe worse. I will try to think of something that's not real bad like that though, that way you won't have to be punished anymore."

Sylvia pouts a bit when she hears that. "Okay..." she groans. Did you get through to her?

"Alright. I have a few more questions I need to ask Tatiana first, and then I can start on something for your punishment," you tell her.

You leave the girl standing with her arms bound in the closet, and go back over to Tatiana who's still strapped down to the table, and sit next to her. "Alright Tatiana. Did you hear everything me and Sylvia were just talking about?" You ask her.

"Mmm-hmm." She says, and then sniffles as her crying has started to calm down.

"Alright. I need to you to tell me what it is you told your daddy. Did you say all of the stuff Sylvia just told me?" You ask.

"Mmm... mmm-hmm," she says.

"Ok. Now, I need you to tell me exactly what he said to you after that," you tell her.

"Mmm..." she sniffles again. "He... he said he wus going to talk to Sylvia's daddy," she said in a morose tone.

"And did something happen after he talked to him?" You asked her.

"Mmm..." she responded. "He came and got me in my room and was real mad and said he'd talked to Sylvia's daddy, and he said he'd told him about me and Sylvia... licking each other in the privates, and... and then he said I'd have to be punished too, and me and Sylvia were going to come with him to the school..." by this point, she was crying hard again.

You are trying to process everything you just heard. If you're understanding this right, this means that Mr. Granville is really so much more bothered about the homosexuality that he's essentially excusing the fact that Sylvia was being sexually molested and essentially finger-raped by her father, and his daughter was witnessing all of this.

You have heard stories in the past about girls getting raped and then forced to marry their rapists, that's how things tend to be done in this town. Maybe it shouldn't surprise you so much that their solution to a girl getting finger-raped by her father is for her to get really raped by you. They just consider the sin of homosexuality to be so much worse, they practically don't consider a girl's sexual consent or emotional wellbeing to be a factor at all.

• Bring up the subject of if Sylvia's dad ever took out his penis around them during these punishments
• Start trying to formulate what your "gentle punishment" will be
