Biography
She came to Mahogany Hills to escape from an abusive relationship, fearing for her life and the life of her unborn daughter, but has never revealed why she choose Mahogany Hills. Soon after arriving she found out she wasn’t welcome in town, and was told in no uncertain terms the only work for her would be in the whorehouse, possible to make her go away. Instead, Janne decided to take that offer, thinking sleeping with random men could not be worse than her previous relationship.
She discovered that the work environment inside the brothel was actually very pleasant and relaxed, and that the women there understood and care for her, accepting her without too many questions, and becoming second mothers for her children.
While in the public pharmacies and clinics in Mahogany Hills is impossible to get condoms or contraceptive pills, the mistress of the brothel had channels to get those and other items to their workers, so they can be safe and in control of their bodies.
While working in the brothel she fell in love with a fellow coworker, Mariette, and they have been a couple ever since. They eventually decided to have a child, and so Janne and Mariette choose an unaware youth that came to lose his virginity to be the father of young Diya.
She’s aware that Luana wants to get away from town, and while she worries for her, she knows she can’t stop her and has just tried to prepare her as much as possible for the real world. For her part, she has made her life there, and while it’s not the life she expected, she’s much happier than before and has no need to go look elsewhere.
