“No, that's alright.” You say with a pain in your chest as you try to keep yourself from crying. “I...” you suddenly feel as though your throat is starting to close down, “but, how am I supposed to believe some strange guy who just shows up in front of me and starts telling me crap like this?” You ask, knowing even as you say the words that in your heart you actually have already accepted every word of what this guy is telling you.

“Yeah, that's perfectly understandable.” He responds with a sympathetic expression. Damn. He knows. You don't know how, but you are sure this guy is reading everything you think and feel before you even express it. Just what is this guy anyway?

“I mean...” you continue, “you seriously expect me to believe that some weird black ball of electricity just appeared out of nowhere and now all of a sudden I don't exist? That suddenly I am a stranger to everyone I ever knew?” Now you really do have tears starting up. You raise your sleeve to your cheek in annoyance.

“Yeah, I know,” Mr. Austin responds. “It is every bit as senseless as it is traumatic. Kind of like getting struck by lightning. Just some purely random occurrence and you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

“Yeah,” You respond. As a matter of fact, it almost sounds like he took the words right out of your mouth. Given a few more seconds, you really might have said those exact words about yourself. Now this is definitely starting to list in as equal in terms of the weird things that have happened to you today. This guy just seems to know too much.

You're focussed on him now

You're still upset about the incident itself
