Life of a 13 year old- Look for the car in the hallway

You get up and exit your mother's receptionist's desk to retrieve your lost car. You swear that it rolled underneath the doctor's office door. Your mother doesn't seem to notice as you walk over. Before entering, you give the solid oak door a few knocks. Through the window, you can see a blue green curtain surrounding what must be an operating table. A doctor, who must be your mother's boss is carefully reviewing a spreadsheet on his computer. You hesitate, not sure whether to barge in or wait for the doctor to leave first. The car is laying on it's side right next to a fancy machine.
