You decide to take this day easy and just run a few errands and maybe have a beer or two when you get home. Jessica kisses you goodbye as she leaves for work. Alex and Rachel race out of the house to get to school as well.

This leaves no one home but you. You start up your car and head down to the local grocery store to pick up a few things that your wife had made a list of. Nothing unusual: carrots, peas, a rack of ribs, some eggs, and milk. The trip isn't long and you arrive at the lot in a few minutes.

You grumble as you stroll across the aisles struggling to find the hidden items. For some reason the store puts all the good as far away from each other as possible. Usually it's Jessica who does the groceries. She manages to make the trip in less than 30 minutes. It's been maybe an hour already. You don't know how your wife puts up with this crap.

After god knows how long, you take your place in the checkout line. In front of you, a woman piles her endless horde of goods onto the belt. She must be trying to feed Africa with the monstrous amount of items in her cart.

Sitting on a bench beyond the line sat a young girl, maybe 14 - 15 years of age. She seems terribly absorbed in whatever game she's playing on her Iphone. Her mother beckons her and tugs at her tank top to leave, but she pays no attention and casually sips her Starbucks coffee.

Typical girls these days, you scoff. Her mother gives up and just walks away angrily, leaving her alone top play her game.
