Amber is a joyful, energetic girl despite the fact that she has a less than ideal home life. She is friendly and easygoing, making friends quiet easily. She is generally cheerful, and doesn't maintain negative emotions for long before reverting to a cheerful disposition even when she does succumb to them.

- James Michael Dunn Father: James is very protective of Amber, calling her his "Little Princess". He encourages her to be pretty and girly, discouraging sports and martial arts for more traditionally feminine pursuits like dance, and gymnastics.
- Ellen Jane (Richards) Dunn Mother: Ellen is a very caring mother. Amber is the baby of the family, so she bears the brunt of Ellen's smothering over-protectiveness.
