Ethan Dunn is a small boy, a weak boy, one could even call him a wimp. He has more than his share of trouble with his peers. He is bullied regularly. He is smart, but not overly so maintaining a B average. He is shy and reserved for the most part, but he has a tendency to occasionally explode into reciprocal verbal abuse when he is verbally abused himself. He is a bit of a coward when it comes to physical confrontation, preferring to run rather than face his aggressor.

Family

  • James Michael Dunn Father: James is a very macho guy. He expects his sons to be masculine as well. He is disapointed in Ethan's lack of interest in sports and his small, weak stature. He ignores Ethan for the most part unless disciplining him, or forced to give him attention by his wife.
  • Ellen Jane (Richards) Dunn Mother: Ellen is a very caring mother. She tends to be a bit too possessive and over-protective of her children. With Ethan this has resulted in her treating him like he were much younger than he is. She "babies" him.
  • Chloe Renee Dunn Sister: Chloe is a popular girl in school. She is obsessed with popularity and appearances like most girls her age. She tends to see Ethan and Amber as annoyances due to the fact that she has responsibility over them on occasion. She can be hyper-critical of them both, and is generally unpleasant.
  • Bradley "Brad" Allen Dunn Brother: Brad is a jock, and the favorite of his father. Brad treats Ethan like a looser. He bullies Ethan, predominantly verbally, and rarely physically.
  • Amber Lynn Dunn Sister: Amber is Ethan's closest friend in the family. He is actually closer to her than even his best friend Henry, but your sister can't be your best friend right? They comfort each other in the misery they share as the youngest children.

Friends, Enemies, and Acquaintances

  • Henry Jackson Johns Best Friend: Henry is a young black boy in a predominantly white school. While rarely dealing with overt racism, he deals with a lot of shrouded racism. As outcasts, Henry and Ethan became good friends.

(Classes) & Teachers

  • Priscilla Anne Abernathy Teacher (5th Grade): Miss Abernathy is a dedicated teacher of her 5th grade class. As Ethan is neither a top student nor a troublemaker, she has little personal interaction or opinion about the boy.
