I have a fairly different perspective on the leniency part. He would probably demand his own children get no special treatment and harden his heart on this matter, and be planning on using the fact he had his own 'little princess' who everyone knows he dotes on harshly punished as an example to the other power players on how they should conduct themselves on this in order to encourage the program being accepted by the public.
The test would be if you can keep (obvious) sexual desire out of it and conduct your "duties" in a professional manner. Of course, asking questions is right in there with proper professional conduct, so that would certainly be looked on positively. This is obviously a test, we should find out more info from Mr. Grandville first:

  • How old are the girls? It's before the official start of year, do we consider them to be in second grade at this point in time?
    • If so, how far can we go with a second grader?
  • Tatiana is Mr. Grandville's little princess, does she get any special treatment?
    • As a parent, will Mr Grandville accept whatever punishment we dole out, or will we have to fear retaliation? (Say for example, we were forced to punish the Mayor's children, would they get special treatment, just because their dad's the mayor?)

I'd say at this point in time, Mr Grandville would want us to show leniency, for now while he talks it over with the big players. With the "storeroom incident" being the catalyst for his change of heart.
