Talk:Life Hacks/Hallomod(tod-pre)/Show the girls exactly what the bulge is

The line “I seen August and Loyd’s penises before!” July says, “but theirs didn’t point up like this.” is no longer valid as the previous section made them girls.

This brings up an interesting question, what is their remembered history like now that they're all girls? They would still remember their "peeing game" out in the woods, but now they've retroactively never seen a penis.

I was quite aware, and I wrote that passage knowing exactly what I was doing. Changing things with the life hack does not change any past events, and the system compensates by making all lifies think the new altered version of the world is how it's always been. These two statements are contradictory, thus there are strange contradictions that tend to come up, that line from July being one such instance. (I meant to have her say that exactly as she said it for that purpose.) The one and only consistent rule is that the lifies will never think it's weird.

So, in this case, July knows exactly what a penis looks like because she has seen August and Loyd's penises, even though their "penises" now are not actually male genitalia at all. She, somehow, still knows what a male penis looks like because she saw her tom-boy sisters' vulvas which they called penises. This is, indeed, very strange. However, neither July, Summer, or anyone else other than Xander will ever notice the bizarre inconsistency of this. (and there will also be a similar case with Jan and Febby molesting Octo, they molested their little sister because they wanted to see what a boy's privates looked like, and they will remember being quite satisfied playing with a real boy's penis despite Octo not having one.) It is a bit odd. but since it's all done intentionally I'll accept it. It might be good to add some sort of tell indicating a moment of confusion due to the change. Something like lifie having some slight confusion or a minor pause after saying something that's no longer true. This does slightly break with the stated world effects but helps the reader maintain continuity. Quiller (talk) 02:43, 21 January 2018 (CET)
