If they are using radiation suits to do their final communication, why couldn't they change the rules to mix and match who's in which vault to reunite families? I figured it would be like a video chat, and when they sealed the vault it would cut the hard lines or something. --Notsooldpervert (talk) 21:53, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

It is a video chat, but it can only happen just outside the "former nexus" that was never actually built. It was just designed to look that way. Flooding the place with radiation was a way to stop them ever trying to "reunite" the vaults. At least that's my idea. Making them use a radiation flooded communications room for final contact was just to push the fear over the top. --Elerneron (talk) 00:08, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

Nice! Maybe in a decade or so they finish cleaning up the radiation, only to find there was some sort of viral outbreak, or something that killed the other vault off. Tay can be the hero of Vault 69, because he stuck to his "duty" during the emergency and followed procedure for decontamination, which the other side "failed to do".
