That whole bit with Pearl was a story line originally thought up by the OP of the series. (Who, like most series I've worked on, has mostly disappeared while I'm keeping it alive.) I had some chats with him though, and it really does make sense for it to be Pearl in this role. I've already got a few ideas on how to get Mary Franklin into the picture though.
