Talk:Disciplinary Action/Disciplinary Office/First Week/Tihana/Office/Punishment/Impregnate/Parents
This is where I was going with it. I was scratching my head wondering if there might be a justification to have John bring Tihana home with him for the night, and then this one lept out and made perfect sense. If they've already given up on her and spend all their time trying to mitigate the social damage she does to the family, they very well may just shy of pimp her out to John in exchange for a favor to keep the damage to the rest of the family minimal. Makes sense, I'm still trying to figure out what the real implications of disowning her might be, in the sense of what would it change it she just ends up pregnant but it's still their daughter. In a more normal society, the grandparents might take care of the mother and child as their own, but in here I can see the parents asking any single male to take their daughter's hand in marriage just so she isn't a single mother. Maybe even agreeing for her to be the "mistress" of an influential man, even if not married, so she would at least have some social status. Otherwise she would probably will end in the whorehouse.
One thing this post made me think of was John's house in town. I had not put any thought about where he lives, so you can house him wherever you want. I do think he would prefer to live in a shoe box on his own, than having to share the house with someone in town, so I doubt he just rents a room in a bigger house. This brings me to the economy of town, which is something I had thought about but never put in writing. The town has some kind of industry, that still gives the majority of jobs for the male population, but it's slowly loosing force, I haven't found what exactly that industry is, but it's what's keeping the town alive and dying. Clearly there is very few tourism, so there would only be at most one motel, perpetually empty, perhaps right next door to the whorehouse, where the clients are clients of both establishments. Since the town's population is decreasing (even with all the pregnancies), there would be a good number of houses for sale, so you have plenty of options to choose form for John's housing arrangements.
Well, in this case, especially if John accepts this deal, they very well may try to get her married to him. The nature of his position may shield him from being forced to marry the girls he impregnates so long as it's all done according to the guidelines, but if the punishment already has him impregnating her and it's also changed to having her share his bed then they might be able to start at least pressuring him in that direction even if he can ultimately reject it due to all of this being official. (That angle may even be what her mother's trying for right now, I haven't decided on that part yet.( Jemini (talk) 09:04, 29 September 2017 (CEST)
As for the industry in town, i would say some type of manufacturing that is being slowly phased out. Then again, i find the irony humorous to make it a distillery. The county in Kentucky that makes Jack Daniel's whiskey is a dry county.
As for taking her home, i say no. He's got a highly dubious protection as faculty. If he takes her home, he loses that if he takes her home with him. I'm going to request the follow the rules option, but he can counter offer.
Remind the mother that the only way her sons could be subjected to it is if they break the rules badly enough to earn that punishment. Parental involvement including intercourse is completely voluntary, and as head of discipline he is willing to "assist" the parents in these matters outside of school if they request it in writing. CYOA. --Notsooldpervert (talk) 02:37, 30 September 2017 (CEST)
I think you'd best re-read the guidelines. The way it's written, it's not voluntary. It's the family sharing in the punishment, and the way it's phrased can easily be interpreted to include school-age brothers without them having to be in trouble.
"Incest is a deeply frowned upon activity, and children know it’s bad. Forcing their parents or siblings to participate in punishments will increase the shame of the student, and the fact the family will also suffer some shame is justified, since it’s their children that created the problem." Indeed, incest is written to not be voluntary. It would make no sense for it to be voluntary in a town where it's frowned upon, no parent would choose it, regardless of it they wanted to or not. The way it's written it can give an excuse for a parent that wants to commit incest to do it with a justification. --Tod Naturlich (talk) 04:01, 30 September 2017 (CEST)
Well... i'd hate to see her get thrown out of the house. Better see what the policy is on after hours punishments. --Notsooldpervert (talk) 17:25, 10 October 2017 (CEST)
