The Last Horcrux/Carkitt Market/Stowe & Packers
As you head in the direction of Stowe and Packers in Carkitt Market, the heavens open again and the downpour is sudden and intense. You are able to raise you wand and cast a quick rain repelling charm, in effect turning your wand into a magical umbrella for a short period of time, but you still get splashed from puddles and the wind blows rain into your face. By the time you get into the shop, you are very pleased to get out of the wet and unseasonal weather.
Once inside the shop, you wipe your feet and end the umbrella charm. You shiver momentarily, surprised that the air had suddenly turned so cold, then you start to browse the shop for some suitable luggage. Within the shop are all manner of bags, cases, luggage and trunks, all enchanted with extension charms, so that they can store considerably more items inside them than their exterior size would suggest. You have never owned one yourself, but have heard of witches and wizards that can fit entire houses inside a magical case or trunk.
"May I help you miss? Er?" A quiet looking man asks, looking up from a ledger he is checking. From the tone of your voice he seems to be asking your name, as well as what he can do for you.
"Lestrange," you say, offering your hand for him to shake, "Emily Lestrange."
"Ahh..." the man acknowledges politely, "Miss Lestrange. A pleasure to meet you. You have, if you don't mind my saying so, the looks of a young woman who is preparing to travel to Hogwarts in September?"
You nod and smile sweetly, noticing the effect that your smile seems to have on men, and some women too.
"Indeed, and I was hoping to be able to purchase an extended bag or trunk,' you say, "Could you show me your finest containers please?"
This time the man smiles, no doubt appreciating that a pureblood such as yourself has considerable funds available to her.
"Right this way miss," he says, beckoning you to follow him deeper into the shop.
For the next few minutes, she shows you all kinds of handbags, purses, suitcases, luggage and trunks, from cigar cases that can easily hold a broomstick, to trunks that have several rooms inside. All are impressive, especially as you have never used one before, but you feel the need for something more.
"I was wondering," you ask the man, "My Aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange, tends to travel in Europe a lot. Paris and Italy, visiting family, but also out to Romania and Albania for some reason. If I wanted to travel with her, it would be good to be able to do so with style, and not miss out on amenities that a young witch of my class has grown accustomed to in the bigger cities."
The man nods politely, "I have just the thing for you miss. An Extendable Luggage Suite. It is much more than an extended luggage, it has a bedroom, an extensive walk-in closet, dressing table and mirrors, and even a small bathroom. It is as though one were staying in a fine hotel room in Paris. The extension itself is an undetectable extension, and it has a number of magical protections, muggle repellant, caterwalling, and cave inimicum. Best of all, it can change size and appearance from a large luggage trunk to a small silver and mother of pearl cigarette case. Why, you could carry it around in a pocket or handbag."
The shop keeper shows you a small silver cigarette case, inlaid with mother of pearl. It is quite beautiful, and something you would gladly own even if it were mundane. He reaches within it, showing that his hand can reach down the length of his arm, retrieving several small objects. Then he places it on the floor and says "Revelio Fores” and the case transforms in size, becoming a large leather trunk in seconds.
He invites you to step inside it. You open the lid and see a stepladder, leading downwards at a step angle, as well as a shelf and drawers for immediate access to other items. You head down the stairs and laugh at the wonderful interior. It is decorated like a fancy Parisian hotel suite. Small, compared to grander apartments you have stayed in with Bella when on holiday, but easily enough to meet your needs.
The lack of windows reminds you of a first class cabin on a cruise ship you once travelled on. There is space for all the clothes you own, and more, as well as a dressing table and several mirrors, including a full length one. Glow globes levitate throughout, casting a warm golden light on the interior. The bathroom is exquisite, with a large porcelain bathtub, basin, lavatory and bidet, as well as a shower several other mirrors.
"I'll take it!" you excitedly call up the stepladder to the shopkeeper.
You climb back up the ladder and agree the price with the shopkeeper. You don't even bother to negotiate, simply agreeing to the first price he offers. It is actually more money than you have in your purse, although the man assures you that this will never be a problem for you again, as the Trunk contains a safe for all manner of precious items. You arrange for Gringott's to pay him the agreed sum, after leaving him with a deposit. You tell him to expect your groomsman later that day to collect the trunk once the money has been transferred from the bank.
Smiling to yourself, you continue with your shopping excursion.
