While many wizards, even those of pure blood lineage such as yourself use the Floo network for speed and convenience, you realised that it simply would not do to travel in such a manor. Instead, you ordered your groomsman to take you through the streets of muggle London in your horse drawn carriage. Though it takes much longer and is inconvenient, it gives you time to think. There is a magical tunnel that will take you near instantaneously to London, but you will still need to move through traffic for nearly an hour to get to Diagon Alley once you are in the city itself.

The first thing you learn is that horses are spooked by you for some reason, and that they were not normally spooked by Emily. In addition, the groomsman is surprised that you don’t want to ride up front with him “like you normally do Miss Emily.” You don't really care what the groomsman thinks, but find memories of him teaching Emily to ride a horse, so resist the urge to scowl or snap at him. He makes some comments about it being a poor day to visit Diagon Alley, as it has been raining heavily since early dawn, but you wave these off and enter the carriage, closing the curtains to sit in the dark and contemplate.

The first thing you consider are your Horcruxes. These other fragments of your soul, if kept safe, will guarantee your immortality. Even if your physical body is destroyed, so long as a single Horcrux is intact, your soul should be able to possess another. The first Horcrux you made was your diary, as a student at Hogwarts. In your timeline, it was in possession of Lucius Malfoy at this time. You have no idea if the Horcruxes will be the same in this timeline, but you have to imagine that with so many other things being similar, the chances are that they will be too. It seems likely that the further back in time events are, the more likely they are to be the same. Hence you wanting to meet Lucius.

The further Horcruxes in your timeline were, Slytherin's Locket (hidden in a cave), Ravenclaw's Diadem (hidden at Hogwarts), Marvolo Gaunt's Ring (hidden... somewhere?) and Hufflepuff's Cup, secured in the Lestrange Family Vault at Gringott's Bank. You decide that if the Cup is in the vault and is indeed a Horcrux, that the chances are the others will be similar. You know that you always wanted to create a further Horcrux from Gryffindor's Sword, but were unable to find it. Its possible that you may have succeeded in finding it in this timeline.

Somewhere on the journey through tunnels and into London, listening to the raindrops falling on the carriage and the occasional crackle of distant thunder, you are rocked to sleep by the gentle rocking of the carriage's suspension. You barely slept last night and close your eyes for a moment...

Your family carriage on a rainy afternoon in London, awaiting your return

You are awoken and your groomsman announces you have arrived outside the Leaky Cauldron pub, the entrance to Diagon Alley. You instruct your groomsman to take the carriage around to the tradesman's entrance and be ready to pack and carry the things you need to buy. Your letter of invitation from Hogwarts has a long list of items to buy, but apart from clothing you decide your groomsman can quite easily save you the bother of buying these items by getting them for you. You give him a handful of golden Galleon coins from your purse and send him on his way. You then enter the pub and make your way past the patrons to enter the Alley proper. Fortunately, the incessant rain has now stopped, but the streets are nearly deserted as shoppers have been sheltering in taverns and cafes for the storm to pass.

Where do you go next?
