I had never even consider the possibility that he might end up getting married to some of the girls. Now I have a morbid curiosity to know what would happen if he did. --Tod Naturlich (talk) 19:44, 1 October 2017 (CEST)

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I never have a long-term plan writing out stuff like this, I just go moment by moment, having characters simply doing what seems natural for them to do given the situation. To be quite honest, I didn't even know myself until I wrote this she was going to ask him to do that, but given the situation, it simply made perfect sense. As was laid out here, under any other circumstances he would be straight up forced to marry her and not even have a choice, and that's because that's the town's custom as mentioned in the introduction. So, it makes absolutely perfect sense the mother would ask for that to be the solution to her current problem. It would be the very first go-to she would think of since that's how all other problems of this sort are solved when they come up around these parts.

I'm not really sure myself how that would play out in the grand scheme, but I know my writing style and I know I can come up with something appropriate. Jemini (talk) 22:35, 1 October 2017 (CEST)

That also brings up the town's stance on polygamy. Just how many pubescent wives will he wind up with? I still say no to marrying her, she's a thief and troublemaker. Now Perl or Suzy on the other hand... lol --Notsooldpervert (talk) 00:14, 2 October 2017 (CEST)

Another option for a very "religious" community is to revive concubinage. Maybe there's a way to take a girl or 10 as an "official" lover outside of marriage with a legal document. It also brings to question how the town's getting away with this, but i'll post my idea on that on the main page talk page. --Notsooldpervert (talk) 17:32, 10 October 2017 (CEST)
