The Last Horcrux/Hogwarts/Great Hall/Go to dinner
WORK IN PROGRESS, NOT FINISHED YET
After finishing your homework, you and the girls make your way to the Great Hall for dinner. The food is delicious, and you and Lily sit with your cousin Blaise, Safira and Jiao-Jie. Further up the table sit Draco and Pansy, surrounded by their little gang of Purebloods. Anyone can see that Pansy is fawning over Draco, but he mostly ignores her, and you occasionally catch him looking sullenly in your direction.
Oh Merlin, you think to yourself. Pansy hasn’t even gone through puberty yet and she’s already set on having babies with Draco Malfoy. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Cousin Draco still thinks he can marry me one day. Why doesn’t he get the hint that I think he’s a loser?
You spend the rest of your meal talking to Lily and the rest of the “misfits” of House Slytherin as you’ve come to think of yourselves. Of all the people in Slytherin, only Blaise is truly at ease. He is very popular with everyone, from his fellow Purebloods to the most lonely or odd of the misfits. He’s simply aloof from the bullying and oneupmanship, and a gentleman to everyone. He’s by far the most popular boy, and is especially popular amongst the girls. Daphne in particular seems keen to sink her claws into him and claim ownership, before any other girls do.
As you finish your meal, you notice Marcus and Gemma looking over at you and talking to one another. You instantly recognise the mean stare that Marcus gives you. You know that look. That is the look of someone who is not afraid of you. You begin to wonder if you have made a mistake in believing that fear alone can keep people in line. When you were Lord Voldemort, everyone knew that to cross you would mean a painful death, for them and their loved ones, but in this body, you look just like any other first year girl. They don’t know who you are, or what you are capable of, and without that terrifying notoriety, your threats are less powerful.
Marcus and Gemma are not afraid. Well, Marcus certainly isn’t. You know you could simply end them, but covering up their deaths and any witnesses would be too difficult and messy. You decide on a more subtle approach. You decide to either Obliviate away their memories of all the naughty things your saw and all the perverted things you made them do, or to Imperious them into servitude. You decide to strike tonight before they get any more stupid ideas.
You decide to rest for a while though. Action can come later, at night and in the dormitories.
You look back at Lily. Something about the girl makes your heart sing. Just being with her gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside that you don’t think you’ve ever had before. You decide you will spend as much of the evening as you can with her after dinner.
