You briefly wake in the night, momentarily surprised to see Lily laying next to you. You cuddle her, feeling the warmth of her smooth skin against yours, and wonder at how she can be so precious. Laying next to her in bed just feels so right, and you can’t ever remember feeling so happy. Yiu snuggle up even closer to her, and soon you fall right back to sleep again.
When you sleep, you briefly dream, but it is more of an echo than an actual memory. You dream of being a little baby, being held by your mother. You are safe.
