Acting quickly, you cast the spell to reveal the souls of the males in the room, by revealing their prime anchors, the silver cords that bind the soul to the body like an umbilical.
Looking at your own hands, you can’t see a male soul or anchor, meaning your concealment is working. You look at Blaise and Neville, seeing their spirits humming inside their bodies. Blaise feels like a proud hawk of some sort, whereas Neville is like a flighty robin.
Looking at the Headmaster reveals nothing. Snape is similar. Both are likely using concealment charms. Hagrid’s soul is like a dragon taking roost. You are surprised to see that one of the apparently female teachers also has a feminine prime anchor, and wonder if she is secretly a man, using polyjuice or transfigured somehow? It doesn’t concern you but is unusual.
One man catches your eye, a nervous, skinny man wearing a purple turban whom you noticed earlier. His soul is hidden as well as the others. This immediately tells you who has something to hide and who has the knowledge and power to hide it. You wonder if a charm exists to disguise your soul with obfuscation, rather than obscurement.
