The Last Horcrux/Hogwarts/The Great Hall/Cast Revelio Magicae

You decide to investigate the magical auras in the Great Hall first. Whispering under your breath, you are sure that no one has heard you, but you are also careful to move your lips as little as possible, knowing that some sharp Aurors have been trained to read lips to watch for silent incantations.

As soon as you cast the spell you are almost blinded by the sudden flow of Quintessence surrounding you. Every student, every unconcealed spell, every magic item and even the walls of the School all glow and resonate with magic. You have to close your eyes for a moment, and when you open them again, the auras have diminished enough for you to make out individual patterns.

You get a general feel for a magic-user’s power according to the brightness of their magical aura. Lily is dazzling, and Hermione is bright as well. Lavender isn’t dull, but pales in comparison with the other girls. The Neville boy is surprisingly bright, which contrasts with his timid personality. You look at your own hand, seeing that your Obscurus Magicae is concealing your own aura, but your Ring of Protection glows practically white. You wonder about concealing the protection ring, or conversely, placing a fake aura on yourself, to conceal your concealment.

Looking at the staff, you can see nothing of Albus Dumbledore’s aura. Has he used a similar concealment charm? You look at Snape and can read nothing of him either, but Hagrid, McGonagle and all of the other staff seem to have natural magical auras. All of them do, except a nervous looking man wearing a purple turban. His aura is as blank as that of Dumbledore, as if he were nothing more than a Muggle. You have no idea who the man is.

You risk a glance at the Potter boy, fearing the excruciating pain again, but none arrives. His aura is as dazzling as Lily’s, and he seems just as oblivious.

You look around the hall some more, noticing some magic items; a ring here, a locket there, a wand disguised as an Umbrella at Hagrid’s side, the famous Sorting Hat sat on the table next to Dumbledore as he drones on. You also notice some of the Hall’s statues, of larger than life men in at arms in plate armour, have a magical aura similar to that of your own Guardian Statue, making you wonder if they can animate?

You decide you will thoroughly search Hogwarts, this time around.

Which spell do you cast next?

You will need to investigate quickly, because the House Sorting Ceremony is due to begin shortly:
